Since a couple of days the Naim App on the Ipad collapses when asked for the album information. I have done the usuall things like restarting the Ipad, removing and re-installing the app, but the problem still occurs. sometimes I get some information but then the app collapses during browsing, sometimes it collapses before it could display anything. Anyone aware of this issue?

Hello smart Naim users - I long for your help and advice on this persistent issue I am experiencing! I have a UnitiLite. I have experienced 'Streamer Not Responding' problems ever since I started using the Naim App about 2 years ago. This was not so much of an issue as I did not really need to use the app. But then I started using TIDAL and Hi-Fi streaming. Now it is vital that the app is robust else your ability to seamlessly browse your playlists and artists is forever being interrupted...

Running this little box as my digital frontend for a while now and it's getting better day-by-day. I found out that dlna mode (nas) sounds much better than roon endpoint (mac). Any user with same experience? tx! ralf

I got round to ripping a few discs into my Unitiserve (some new and some not) and looking at what it is doing with nserve on my iPad, it checks with AMG for about one second before moving directly onto Free DB and either finding the CD there or ripping it as Unknown, even for CDs which have previously ripped ok with AMG data. I rebooted the US which otherwise seems fine and it made no difference. My internet connection is ok. So I am wondering whether there is a problem with AMG at the...

I have downloaded a disc and had to type in the metadata myself. Copied the cover JPEG and saved it in the same folder as the tracks (as always) (almost) certain I now have it correct, but when (in Win explorer) I [click] properties and ID and then [click] to add the cover JPEG - it appears as a thumbnail then I [click] OK - presumably saving it. Straightaway I right [Click] properties and ID and it is not there ??? I have not had this problem before, has anyone got any bright ideas please...

I have an iPad 2 and recently upgraded it to iOS 10. Can anyone confirm that the Album look up crashes the App please. I have reloaded it from the App Store to no avail. My iPhone SE is unaffected. Thanks.

I've been adding files to the US download folder. All contain flac files plus a folder.jpeg. All have been edited first in Metadatics. The first two files added showed up in the n-Serve 'Newest' list and the Naim app 'Newest CDs' list. Subsequent files added do not show in either list although they appear in the Albums list and can be seen and played by the Naim iPhone app into a Mu-so. Not of any great significance but I wonder if anyone has any ideas?

Help. We have a brand new mu-so qb, a rega CD player to feed it and an Atlas optical cable to connect the two. Now, we have never used an optical cable before, ever. The Atlas cable comes with what looks like tiny blobs of translucent silicon rubber on the end of each connector, presumably to protect the ends of the fibres. So here's the question and please don't laugh: Are we supposed to peel off the silicon rubber before inserting the cable into the mu-so qb and the cd player? We have...

How exactly can this be connected using wi-fi tethering from mobile smartphones at least for partial functions not necessarily for NAS ? In other words for playing computer files or internet radio for example.

I've been using my UQ2 without issue for over a year now - but recently I've had many problems with Spotify, using my phone to send it to the UQ2. My set up is such that I have my UQ2 wired to my router, but obviously my phone is wireless. I have an iPhone, running iOS10 - and obviously the latest version of Spotify. I can't say for sure when the problem first manifested itself but it's recent. Hard to describe what the problems are too. I can select the UQ2 as a device in Spotify, and it'll...

I am a complete streaming beginner and need to set up my new system. I bought all items used so cannot and will not waste a dealers time. I sold my CDS3 three years ago and now am unpacking everything. Could someone explain connection. Equipment 1.NDS-555PS DR 2.552 DR 3.500 4.N-Serve SSD 5.SL2's I want to use Apple I pad Mini to control So what i have figured out is I need a Nas, switch, and Cat 6 cable. I’ve upgraded from an ND5 XS to a NAC-N 272, still using the power amp section of the Nait XS 2. One oddity is that the Nait still requires a power supply for the pre-amp, even though the audio is going in through the Power Amp In 4 pin connector (I conclude this actually connects to the last stage of the pre-amp). Summary Overview Positives: Many subtle improvements (detailed below), slight increase in PRaT, slightly firmer perceived bass presentation (no change in actual bass volume), No...

This weekend I borrowed and Innuos Zennith to demo in my system. Once again I was assured there was no difference in sound between WAV / FLAC / AIFF. Well I've slot loaded a few cds and then imported the same albums as WAVs and there is definitely a positive with WAV. WAV sounds altogether more musical, natural and less separated. More swing and definitely more emotion which is the give away for both me and the missus. AIFF makes the voices jump out in a horrible, uneasy way. FLAC is all...

I upped the RAM over the weekend in my QNAP NAS to its max and it's made a noticeable difference to the sound but I'm baffled as to why. My reason to up the RAM in the first place was just a concern over temperature. CPU was operating around 60% when streaming music to the NDX, now it's around 7%. Sound is bit beefier, soundstage a bit wider with a bit more detail. - all from just a RAM increase. Can anyone offer a vald reason why? Could be just placebo effect or power down during fitting...

I have a Mu-so and I'm about to get a Qb for the same room, mainly so the sound isn't just coming from one place but also because the Qb looks so nice. Both will be connected via AirPort Express and Ethernet to avoid the wireless dropouts. Source will be a MacBook and iTunes Would I stream using AirPlay to one Mu-so and sync it to the other one using the Naim app? Or use ITunes and AirPlay to stream to both devices? And if the latter do I still need to sync the two devices? I've read much...

HI, I'm new to this so my question was prob answered before. Which NAS would you recommend for the UQ2? I'm looking at the Synology DS216J, QNAP TTS228 or WD MyCloud Mirror. I'd be grateful to anyone who's used any of them devices. Thanks!

Hi, I'm hoping somebody has a similar, at least in part, setup and can advise. I have a UnitiQute connected to my home network. On my home network I have a desktop PC. I have a second internal hard disk in the PC which is formatted as FAT32 and has all my FLAC on it. I run Kaspersky Total Security which has its own firewall and packet rules. The PC has a user name and password, in part due to remote desktop being enabled. The Naim app finds the PC but cannot browse it. So I would be grateful...

I am planning to get a dac to connect to my computer using Jriver media center for playing music on my NAS and for movies. I have red raving reviews about the Chord Hugo and 2qute and undertand that 2qute might be slightly better when connected through USB to a computer whereas Hugo is better for other connections. Since I only plan to use USB-connection I wonder how the N-DAC fares to 2qute through USB-connection - has anyone tried this? I can get a used N-DAC for the same money as a 2qute...

Guys, I have been using the Naim app since 2012 (previously called nStream), but recently bought JRemote as alternative controller for my NAC-N272 and UnitiQute. JRemote is an iOS app for iPads/iPhones from JRiver. It works only in combination with JRiver Media Centre (JRMC) which is a media server (music library manager) running on your PC or Mac. When comparing the two apps, there are some differences in functionality and user-friendliness, which I summarised in this table. What I like...

I've had a WD MyBook Live NAS + media server as my media source for the last few years, but its big big problem is that the server s/w dishes up CD tracks in alphabetic order on the tablet app, not track sequence. It happened with the Cambridge Audio Stream Magic 6 streamer using both CA iPad apps, and does the same now on my Naim ND5 XS. It makes it pretty useless as a media server if I can't play a ripped or downloaded CD in track order. To prove the point I've installed different ms s/w...
