Streaming Audio

Sorry and numpty question here, perhaps already answered and please feel free to redirect me if already answered. Situation is I have bought a QNAP HS-251+ as a NAS for my NDX. Problem is the NDX only has one network connector so how does one connect the NAS to the NDX in this case? I presumably want internet connected to the NDX at all times, and certainly do not want to swap out the Internet for NAS every time I want to access the NAS. Any help would be much appreciated. I realise that this may be asking too much. Is there any way that I can use FIdelia in the main room and stream the song (without delay) to my two other rooms. It work perfectly with iTunes of course but if I want to have hi res in my main lstening room there is no music in the other rooms (where it does not have to be hi res or even particualrly good quality) I am hoping that there is a hack out there somewhere! I've installed all my music within the MiniMServer. Do flac files play automatically on my N 272 or do have to configure it to do so? Do files play gapless because I use MiniMServer? thanks

All, I had a quick search to solve my problem but the closest posts concerned playlists from a USB stick. I just got a Qb and plugged an external HDD full of WAV files in the USB port. Changed the source to USB, got the play/pause icons on the Qb display - no music. My WAV files are all in one directory on the HDD. DO they need to be in the top level? Does the Qb handle WAV? I'm hoping for some help from Synology users. I am having trouble backing up my synology using their latest Hyperbackup (local data copy). I have previously used 'backup and restore' to back up my music folders on my NAS which is now replaced with Hyperbackup. Hi, so I played around with the Naim app and tried to play AAC files. Playing them with USB and UPnP directly at the Superuniti works fine. Using the Naim Android App it works also fine with USB input. However using UPnP the app shows the files, but doesn't add them to the playlist. This is the case for all AAC files. SW bug of the app ? Hi Can anyone help with this problem, I’m using XLD to rip my CD’s into FLAC on an iMac and have encountered very few problems in some 2000+ CD rips. Today I tried to rip the new Ryley Walker CD “Golden Sings That Have Been Sung” (truly truly excellent music!) it’s a 2CD edition, the first ripped very slowly but there were no errors according to the XLD log file. How can I delete the TIDAl credentials from my system? I reseted my Naim streamer and deleted and reinstalled the iOS app. But the credentials still show up inside the Naim iOS app.

I've done a search to try and find some help with an issue changing album art, but to no avail. Firstly, thanks for all the advice a month ago whilst I was pondering a set up. Went for the QNAP TS 251, 2Gb RAM with WD 8Tb Red - running Asset. Great Youtube clip had the QNAP out of the box and up and running within 30 minutes. All albums transferred showing a total of 142,056 tracks and 12,565 albums. I have just noticed that several tracks deleted from the Unitiserve are still in the MQ folder. All the affected tracks are where I have manually split and renamed CDs with 2 albums on them. They are shown as normal under artist name/album name/track name.WAV.DEL. The 'good' versions of the tracks are still there (without the .DEL suffix, and play normally. The recycle bin is empty. Other than disk space, is this a problem or should I just ignore it? Thanks

It has been crapping out since yesterday.. It has been rock solid since it was introduced on UQ2. The other service on the offer seems unaffected, playbacking along nicely. I am pretty sure this is not a network issue as all iradio stations in the preset work properly.

Has anyone used this UK based download site? It looks very cheap.

All - Now back in the Naim family (first joined in 1984 with an original Nait). Curious about streaming, but am limited budget-wise as I've recently bought a Nait 5, FC2, Meridian 563, and the requisite SNAICs and interconnects (I already had NACA5). In exploring online, the PIoneer N50 comes up often as a very inexpensive but fairly good streamer, and I've seen a couple of references to it in these very forums. Dear Forum I have recently purchased a Uniti Serve, I have ripped all my CD's to this. A number of them have come up saying 'Album unknown' Through the Naim APP I can then got to the icon in the top right and look up the album. It shows me the correct cover and details etc. The problem I have I cannot get the this info to permanently associate itself with the album. Can anyone please advise? thanks Paul

Dumb question alert!! I use a WD Redbook 2TB NAS as my main streaming store and have an external USB hard drive as backup store (which is a bit tempramental and reluctant to connect to my PC) Ideally I think I should have a 2nd NAS as back-up...I'm not computer savvy. I assume I can attach a 2nd NAS to my network and copy everything over on to it? Would it benefit from also being a WD or are there better options out there? Thanks, Graeme

Hi, At present I'm using Audirvana on a maxed out Mac Mini to stream music via an AudioPhileo 1 USB - SPDIF box to my nDAC. Until last week I was quite happy with this until a friend suggested I compared the sound of a ripped CD file with that of the original CD played on a PSP3 connected to the nDAC via a Chord glass SPDIF cable. Recently purchased a 2nd hand ns01. Tried to set it up but the static IP address of previous owner was coming up but not recognised on my network. From faffing around via the IPTool I have managed to remove all the previous settings of the IP, SUBNET MASK, DNS. I now have the IP address set as 0.0.0.0.0; and the DNS, Subnet mask, etc showing as !!not set!! I have tried rebooting, taking out the Ethernet and putting it back - all to no avail. From firmware update 4.11.8, Naim DAC is now able to play DSD files via S/PDF or USB inputs. For S/PDF input, I use Audirvana player. I don't know how I must set Audirvana for native DSD streaming. Can you help me with this? Thanks

Anybody else having this issue? Trying to listen to the cricket on my Muso. Navigating through the various iRadio staion menus I just get a "Loading..." message and it won't allow me to select an option. I have a preset set up which does start the stream, but "Restoring History" stops at 64%, and the stream restarts every 15 secs or so. Does not seem to be happening with any other BBC stations. Now that I'm used to used to the SuperUniti and the QNAP, I have something which keeps me busy... With the HDX all my 2CD albums like Pink Floyds 'The Wall' were ripped as follows: 1st CD: Pink Floyd - The Wall 2nd CD: Pink Floyd - The Wall [CD2] Using the Naim app, I 'see' two albums. Now I'm also using a tool called mp3tag and it seems possible to re-tag all files into a single album ... I wonder how you guys deal with this, any thoughts are much appreciated :-)
