Streaming Audio

I'm controlling my NDS via iPad, with the latest version of iOS running, and the 552 is set up with remote to control the volume. Now, whenever I pause a track on the iPad, it also mutes my 552, which is particularly annoying if I'm listening from somewhere else in the house. I'm guessing it's tied into the remote setup, but I can't see why it should suddenly have taken it upon itself to start doing this when it was fine up until yesterday. Any ideas chaps?

Has anyone ever had a 'could not rename album' message? And if so - is there a workaround? I can edit the artist name and the genre. [Album was part of a box set, not recognised by any of the databases so I'm manually editing. All other cds in the box are editable.]

I have been toying with the idea of adding a streamer to my main set up consisting of CD5si>HcDr>XS2>NeatSX2. My SBT with a proper outboard DAC does not cut it somehow, I feeI. I read a lot about that Auralic thingy but did not hear it or try it in my system. Currently, funds do not allow to get NDX or ND5 with a Naim PSU. As a stopgap measure, will it justify forking out for Auralic together with a good linear PSU? Thanks.

I had my NDX running with Asset perfectly well, then went on holiday, turning everything off before going away. On return had problems getting all the networking going again, which now seems to be OK - except my NDX no longer sees Asset (only Logitech media server) (or Roon FWIW). I'm puzzled - how do I get it to access Asset from my PC again? It might be the IP address on the NDX - I have re-booted the NDX a couple of times to try to get it to get its IP address because all the other...

Hello, New to the forum. I have searched to see if this has been addressed but can't find anything. I currently have a Sonos connect feeding into. Dac v1. This feeds a NAP 200 then into rega r3's. It looks like a could pick up a NAC172 X so secondhand for not much more than I could sell my dac v1. What are people's thoughts on which would sound better. Hi, I'm about to embark on a long trip and would like to take my flac library with me as mp3 files on my mobile. Does anyone know of software that could do this conversion for me. idle musings as I think about a new source...Anyone has/had experience with the TotalDac S1 Server ? Comes in at about the same price as an NDX (which I am still not convinced about...). Demo is possible but by post so not the easiest...Reviews for TotalDac seem to point to "exceptional". But the D1 Server could have some downsides - user-interface doesn't seem to be that great; maye some DAC compatibility issues; set up is not straight forward. Opinions ?

Hi all, My old NAS died so I've bought new one, a Sinology DS116 + WD Red hard disk. I have uploaded all music files from security copy. I can access the NAS from my computer with no problem, but the ND5 XS does not show it on the UPnP menu, it says No server . Anybody knows what should I do? Thanks in advance. Vte

I've spent all my piggybank for this year on a 272/250DR with Spendor D7. Very happy with the results Although I intended this to be the end of it I wonder if it would be a worthwhile upgrade to add an XPS DR to the equation - (next year as an ex-demo unit ) BTW Does the XPS take over the power lead of the 272 i.e. you only need two sockets to power the three units?

would You still advice 3.5 wd reds or turning to ssd performance wise? as bought samsung ssd today to replace damaged macbook hd which turned ok and have to decide whether to keep it for the nas -which seems supported-or replace with a wd red, pros&cons? thanks

Hi all I am looking at buying a Mac mini for my second system, which is a Marantz and built in DAC. I also have an airport express and IPad. I guess I just need to buy the Mac mini, and an optical cable to connect to the amp. Which software should I get to control it all. I detest iTunes and my music is flax anyway? Any other setup tips? As time did not permit me "exploring" the backing up/transferring etc. from my UnitiServe (with hard disc built in) ('US') to my Synology NAS, I just managed to rip some CDs on my US during the last couple of months. I have finally bit the bullet and decided to convert my wav files to flac in order that I can use Asset pnp to stream my music. Future rips will contain the required metadata to show tags album art etc. Can anyone explain the best way to convert from wav to flac and acquire the necessary tags. I'm guessing it will require another piece of software, but at what stage of the process is it best to acquire the tags ?

If I save Classic FM as a preset on my SU, and either choose it, or leave it as the previous choice, the SU seems to hang when switched on with a Please Wait message on the display, the IOS App failing to respond, however, if I choose Naim Radio or Radio Paradise the stations just work, so it seems to be a Classic FM, and maybe others, problem. I'm planning to use my new Naim as a streaming unit for my main system centered by the McIntosh Mx160. I need a cable to connect the Naim 4-pin din pre-amp output to one of the MX160 analog input. The small diagram on the back of the Naim shows two upper pins as channel 1 (right) and channel (2). The lower left pin is marked as "ve". The lower right pin is unused. Hi to all!! I just upgrade from a UQ2 to a SU. The SU i got was second hand and come with 3.3 firmware. I upgrade it to 4.4 without any problem and Tidal appears again. Using my android table all my tidal favorites where there without logging anywhere (i mean not configuring anything on the tablet or SU). Now it is time to sold the UQ2. How I delete all UQ2 data including my tidal account? Where my tidal credentials are instaled in (tablet of Naim)? How can I manage them in case for example...

So there I was, all ready to take delivery of my new 250DR and move to a two box system of SU + 250DR, losing my CD5si and 200DR in the process, and then my dealer sent the PL's early..... Now HH has said a 100 PL's do not a 250DR make, and he's quite right, but they don't half make that step-up cost come into real sharp focus! Hi All, wonder if i can get some help or guidance. I have a Buffalo blackArmour NAS and can only seem to browse a subset of the folders when I select 'UPnP Server' from the Naim iOS app or front panel of SuperUniti. In fact only the first 16 folders out of around 200 or so can be seen(I use on folder per artist with subfolders for Albums). I know my NAS is fine as my Sonos can browse all folders, as can my MacBook, everything is wired Ethernet, and the same NAS is a backup target for apple...
