My main system is currently a Nait XS2 as pre-amp to NAP 200, and my digital sources are a UnitiServe + NAS into a nDAC with associated power supplies, etc. My question is what would be the optimal (simple and fairly cheap) way to bring Tidal's music service into this chain? Both Ethernet and ACGN WiFi are available. I understand that the UnitiServe is basically a dedicated Windows XP client; is there any way to load and control Tidal on it? Failing that are there any fairly inexpensive...
For some reason I can't connect my unitilite to my Sony android TV via Bluetooth any ideas?
Rovi have informed Naim that Sony Music Entertainment (SME) Album Cover Art & Clips will be removed from their service, effective July 2016 What’s the Background? Rovi has traditionally maintained a partnership with SME that has allowed them to distribute SME album cover art and 30-second music clips as part of our Rovi Music metadata products. SME and Rovi have been unable to come to an agreement during their extensive renewal discussions. As a result, we have been informed as a...
Hello there. First post having had my account recently clear customs so thanks for having me. I have recently invested in a naim multiroom streaming setup comprising a untiqute, muso and qb and must say im VERY impressed with all of this kit, especially the unitiqute. I walked into a local hifi store with sonos in mind but the muso caught my eye and after some listening to the Unitiqute 2 was sold. I'd like to ask two questions if I may regarding the setup: 1) Should i select large or small...
Hi, I'm sure this has been covered several times, but a search has not revealed the answer I'm looking for. Basically, I'm looking to add individual artists to ripped compilations, where the tracks are shown correctly, whilst the performers are listed simply as "Various Artists" The rips are all carried out using a Naim HDX to NAS, and are therefore in WAV format. I'm controlling replay with the Naim app on an iPad, which has both the app and n-Serve installed. Additionally, I have n-Serve...
I understand I'm defeating the object but I own a nait2. And I've just bought aunitilight the idea was to keep the streamer in the main room and put the nait2 in the spare room with a turntable and my arcam cd player but the missus don't think it's a good idea for some reason I think its because she knows she'll never see me anyway is it worth running the unitilite through the nait2, it just seems crazy having the supernait sitting doing nothing, any ideas until I can talk her round,
Today I checked the bitrate on a few of the Danish radiostations I have both on my Qb and on my ns01. The strange thing is that the biterate of the same stations (all stations from the Danish national radio) are 192 kbps on the qb, but only 128 kbps on the ns01 server. I thought that both servers and streamers used vtuner for the stations? When I look at hte list of servers on www.vtuner.com the Danish stations are also listed at 128 kbps. Another thing that is not updated is the on demand...

I just reviewed the new Melco 1ZH, replacing my base Melco. While my other Melco was already great, this one is topping it with even more natural musicality. It's really amazing to see how the NAS can have such an impact on sound quality. For those of you contemplating the base Melco or this one. Don't contemplate and take this step. It's again a step up and as additional benefit I have now 6TB on board instead of 4TB.
(The story so far - when Naim added Tidal as an integrated streaming option last Autumn, quite a lot of people had technical issues, drop-outs etc. It seemed that these might be fixable by a firmware upgrade - one was originally scheduled for before Christmas, then we were told that there were one or two minor problems that made it more sensible to hold it back until early in the New Year. It's now May.) I joined the Naim family when I bought a SuperUniti four years ago. I've been pleased...
I would like to use my Sonos to play Deezer through the NDX. not sure how the connections should run? thanks

My set-up is an elderly NAD amplifier/B&W speakers (fed by an iMAC playing ALAC/AAC via Audirvana+, and into a DACMagic 100 via USB). The speaker’s tweeters are broken and I’m seeing this as an opportunity to replace, rather than repair – and am also conscious of providing an easy means for others in the household to play their music wirelessly from iPads/iPhones, or by controlling the iMac. The room isn’t a dedicated listening space and one option I’m seriously considering is to...
Lately I have had access to both and SBT and an NDS. The latter is juiced up with my XPS-CR (cough). I had been preferentially using the SBT for the last couple of weeks due to its greatly better interface. The NDS did get some use for the more critical listening, although to be honest there wasn't as large as a gap between the SBT (using its analog outputs) and the NDS as I had hoped. The NDS did sound more 'grippy' and dynamic, with the SBT sounding a little bloomy at the bottom and dark...
In talks to buy from Jay Z. http://www.siliconbeat.com/2016/06/30/apple-reportedly-talks/
Help! As indicated, the Spotify app and the NDS both show that music is playing, but I'm not getting any sound. If I switch the destination on the Connect app, I can play the same tracks through the iPad or my laptop. All updates are current and I've rebooted everything. Any thoughts? Thanks! PS Yes, I know Tidal sounds better and is fully integrated. I have it, too. But Spotify has a lot more music, so I use it to try music before buying.
So a commonly requested feature is for Naim to implements AirPlay on their streamers. Well it's not native but I have come up with a working method. First off you'll need LMS installed somewhere on your network. I currently have version 7.8.0 installed on a Linux / Vortex box but any newish version should work installed on a NAS or a Windows or OS X computer. You then need to add two plug ins. First you need the ShairTunes plug in - this is the trickier part of the equation and may take some...
Hi, Can any one tell me where to find the driver to update my unitiqute version to 4.4. Andy.
Hi all was interested in peoples views/listening experiences of the following 3x streaming systems in terms of best sound/ease of future proofing & upgrading System 1: ND5 XS (as transport)> NDAC>XPS DR> Supernait 2 System 2: NDX>XPS DR> Supernait 2 System 3: N272>XPS DR> Nap 250 DR also with system 1&2 could add a HiCap DR later and does that (minor modest cost upgrade) swing it considerably over system 3 anyhow intesrested in peoples views thanks
Anyone else having issues with the BBC HD feed? Been having issues with the BBC HD channels 2, 4, 5 & 6 stopping streaming at random pretty much since I replaced the SU with the 272 in April ..... curiously I have no issues with other stations Naim 320K, Radio Paradise , Linn Jazz AND BBC std channels. Sometimes it will drop out & restart within a few seconds, but more often than not the stream stops and doesn't restart. BBC 2 HD failed twice between 6am & 7am this morning, both...
Im using a Mac mini and in the past used covers scout which seems to fail to gather and assign album art across 200gb or so of music does anyone have a better option please?
I appreciate there are a number of topics on this subject however I would be interested in opinions that I don't think have been covered by the various posts I have read. Of course, ultimately I appreciate only mine own ears will tell, however I would appreciate some guidance. I am totally new to the world of streaming, the last time I went to a hifi shop and bought something was when I got a pair of SL2s to hang on to the end of my system (CDS2, XPS2, 52/Supercap, NAP135s, SL2s) So this...
A couple of things I've noticed: if a cd is reported as 'unknown' and you abort mid-rip the display on the iPhone app does not clear. Subsequent cds are not recognised and a reboot is necessary. If you let the rip complete this problem doesn't occur. (Reported to Naim) Occasionally the iPad app (and n-Serve) will retrieve a cover and put it into the metadata but the iPhone app won't, even after a cache refresh. The only solution is to manually edit the record in the iPhone app.
Hi Folks, I heard from other forum, there had people said disable the network switch flow control setting will make the sound better on streaming. How about your think ? Best Regards, marcobb
Good morning, I am considering replacing by Stream Magic streamer with a Naim device and I am exploring options around acquiring a 172xs Streamer/Preamp, thus replacing my olive NAC72. The rest of my set up is an olive 140/HiCap, together with a Linn CD player an LP12, and Ariva speakers. All this fits neatly on to a 4 slot HiFi rack (with the LP12 on top), so with ditching the 72 I could do an upgrade to a NAP 200 at a later stage without the need for adding extra levels. Is this a possible...
