Streaming Audio

Just a little observation after wrestling with a few tracks streamed from Unitiserve. System is Unitiserve, 272, 250 (previously a Uniti). The symptom is occasional tracks curtailed when streaming from Unitiserve. I first noticed this with Stuart McCallum the track Cigale would end abruptly at precisely the 08:31 but before the end of the track (I timed this so it indicates the track was playing slow!). Can I stream my Deezer lossless files to the ND5XS without buying extra interface hardware, or will I still have to add a Sonos Connect or the like?

I just signed in for TIDAL. It works to play on my Naim streamer using the Naim App. But when I use the original TIDAL app (there is even a link inside the Naim app to the TIDAL app) I didn't find a way to play musik on the Naim streamer. How to do it with the TIDAL app?

It seems to work! I bought one for £39 and installed it in my office system - 2011 Apple iMac, Audirvana, AQ Dragonfly 1.2, Grado SR325e. And it has a real benefit - cleaner and more musical. it was a very clear and positive effect. My assumption is it will have more benefit in computers with a noisy USB bus, and perhaps works best with their own Dragonfly DAC. I'm now wondering whether my office system - at maybe £450 - actually sounds better than my main system - at many multiples of that!

i run a nd5-xs into the Naim DAC. To get it up and running I bought a 75ohm cctv coax cable bnc/bnc and I have to say that it sounds fab! (It cost £4) anyone tried the DC-1 against a unbranded coax 75ohm cable? listening to my system I fail to find anything obvious missing ... Ta

Hi there, I am a new member and my first post. My Naim dealer told me in past about a service he uses for downloading music. The service he told me about compares all the zeros and ones with a master copy and then corrects any defects. In this way we get a "perfect" copy of the master. I not remember what this service called but will check with him. I wonder what service members use for downloading music and if they come across similar services to which I describe above?

Hello All, Considering upgrading my SU to a NAC-N 272 or my NAP 200 DR to a 250 DR? Currently running bi-amped, which I like, but am not locked into - initial thoughts were to do the amp first, continue to bi-amp, but much perceived wisdom on the forum appears to suggest source first.....? I cannot get Asset to show my new albums. When I go to playlists and then 'new albums' it shows an alphabetical list of the whole collection. Since copying all the albums to the QNAP and firing up Asset, I've loaded two new albums, and would expect them to be the first in the new albums list. But no.... I've rescanned, cleared the upnp cache and image cache to no avail. Does anyone know what I need to tweak? Thanks.

It seems Avro internet radio channels (fr the Netherlands if I’m not mistaken) are gone now. I know that they have recently stopped streaming. Is there any chance those channels - I especially liked Avro Classics and Ambient – still “exist” somewhere out there?

im having serious problems getting AirPlay to work. I have tried both wireless and wired connections to airport extremes (generation 2 and 4) and it refuses to show up on any device I have. The Apple TV I have connected to the same routers connect provide AirPlay immediately. The WiFi works OK for the radio etc, so that does not seem to be the issues. I wonder if the Firmware is corrupted or something. Does anyone know I to re-flash the firmware? I've seen the web page and the warning about...

Periodically I have a problem with multiroom (NDS and 4 'Qutes). The issue is that there are times when I cannot connect any of the slaves to the master (if that is the correct terminology) when wanting to play music from my NAS in several rooms. The next day the problem is solved until the next glitch a few days later. Well, I happened to use the Naim Desktop Client to look at my albums, and right clicked on the properties item. Well I saw much more information than I am currently seeing for albums on the Unitiserve app for the laptop. Its just that the laptop is the crux of my setup. Doesn't this mean someone owes us an update?

My iRadio has been very slow today. Actually for the last couple of days as well. It takes ages to first restore history, say a minute or so, then another minute or so to start playing the selected station, then interruptions start etc. Internet is fine, the speed is around 18Mbps, ND5XS with fixed IP wired to the gigabit switch, router is fine, all devices seeing fast internet and there have been no changes to the system setup or settings for a while. As a new US (and Naim) user I'm encountering this irritating problem (compilation album shows as separate tracks) when I stream from a USB (or the download folder) in the US. What makes it especially annoying is that when the same USB is streamed from a Mu-so the compilation is recognised and all the tracks are shown in a discrete folder. Does that suggest the the problem is fixable on the US?

i have a Superuniti and I'm trying to connect to my iMac to stream my music stored on iTunes via Linn Kazoo. I'm controlling it via the Naim app but I can't get it to see my iTunes, any ideas what I'm doing wrong ? Nick

Downloaded version 4.4 onto my mac and had to load usb drivers but just cant do it .. not happening . I have 2 options send the unit back to Naim and ask nicely to update it . Or do you think the shop where I bought it from would do it ? .. I suppose i could just go and buy the lovely new version with Bluetooth and Tidal already installed and I dont think the wife would notice .. Now thats an idea .....
