A month or two ago, I spent an unplanned afternoon in my local dealer and did an extended comparison of a 272/200 to my exiting UQ2/100. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to move on since. I have deliberated various upgrade routes, but I think, given budget and space (ie no of boxes) where I have landed is a 272/250 ultimate setup, possibly with the addition of power supplies at a point to be determined in the long distant future. I would add the 272 now and the 250 as funds allow. I...

I am about to re-arrange my setup, such that I take a direct feed from the US into the UQ2 (soon to be upgraded to a N-272...) rather than over Ethernet. The 2 outputs on the US are a digital toslink or a locking BNC for a digital coax. Obviously I can get a BNC to RCA convertor, but is there good quality digital cable out there that has BNC connectors on rather than RCS and using a convertor? I have tried searching online and come up with very little . . . .Anyone else connect like this,...

I have a Qobuz album that plays alternate tracks, it misses track 1 & then plays all the even numbered tracks. If I force it to play track 1, it then plays all the odd numbered tracks. I've looked at metadata, compared with other play OK Qobuz albums with track numbers tagged the same way & can't see any difference. Tried re-tagging using a different track number method (Qobuz use IRFM & IPRT) - I tried the normal track# method & this would not play anything. Anyone seen this...

After a house move, all albums that I had on the US are showing up as duplicates in the NAIM app. New ones that I rip, are just shown once? There is definitely only. Copy of each on the US? ANyone else had this issue, if so, how to I remove the duplicate from showing?

I've noticed, that the larger the playlist you're playing, the more often the dropouts/buffering occur. If I play a single album containing 10-15 songs, I almost never get any dropouts at all. But if I start a playlist containing 100+ songs, the dropouts start on the first song. I have the muso.

I'm having a number of problems with the naim app loosing NDX to UPnP (NAS) connections & that pushed me into other things & its a become a bit of a mystery. I needed to reboot my NAS for an unrelated reason & it lost UPnP connection with NDX, I eventually got it back but it took a bit of fiddling & I lost track of what & where I was at. This evening I started up again for a few hours listening & again no connection; iRadio, USB & the links to FM Radio were fine,...

I just copied the music from my NAS to a usb-3.0 external hard drive and plugged it into the usb connector on the front of my ND5 XS. The hd activity light blinked for a while, the display says "please wait, input initialising", but not much else is happening. Will the ND5 XS play: A drive partitioned with GUID? A drive formatted with the linux ext4 filesystem? A drive with music organised in folders? ..or does it need to be an MBR partition with some kind of FAT format with all of the music...

My original question was "to stream or not to stream?". So I jumped in the river and bought a Synology DSL 216+. Probably just me, but I'm not finding the DSM 6.0 software just quite as intuitive as I had hoped. To copy my music files from my PC hard drive: presumably I just copy them into File Station under the <music> folder? I did a test run, seemed to manage that ok but I caanot see them under Audio Station. Should I? If so how do I do that? I really want to set up everything the...

Hi all. Firstly apologies if this topic has been done to death. The most recent thread i can find on the subject is from a year ago: http://forums.naimaudio.com/ topic/all-tracks-randomly-how- hard-can-it-be I'm trying to create a "random" playlist which cycles through my entire collection, which is not limited to 500 tracks (i.e max playlist size). FYI I'm using a uniti streamer using the latest version of the naim app on IOS (iphone / ipad) backed by a synology nas running it's built in...

Awaiting NDX / NAS delivery - meantime been copying a few CDs using dbPoweramp Looking on Windows Explorer one sees the following:- Is this how it should look ? - If I remove the artist from the "Artist" heading in dbPoweramp it replaces "01 Chet Baker - Love for Sale" with " 01 Unknown artist - Lov..." I don't wish to continue copying my CDs if I am going to have to do it all over again once I am setup & with app on tablet Thanks for any help Al

I recently moved properties and when I set up my Backup drive, the US wouldn't backup to it. I think this is because the ip address was different. So I removed the backup source, re-scanned and then redesigned my backup folder in n-serve, "Network Shares". When I go to "Backup Monitor", it does;t show the destination drive, I can't even select anything there and in "Network Stores" nothing is showing under Backup Devices? I'm sure I must be doing something simple wrong - maybe a password on...

For the first time my wife has asked to use her iPhone to play music on our Muso qb via the Naim app. (She has previously just used blutooth for simplicity!). I have set everything up but when clicking on the musoqb image nothing happens and a message says 'to check if you have the latest firmware visit naims website. The Naim app is newly installed on her phone and current musoqb version says 1.4.0. I can connect to my NDX on her phone no problem and can connect to both via my iPad so...

Hi Gents, What speed is the network card in a NAC-272 please? I've just noticed that my Unitiserve is connecting to my switch at 1000Mbps where as my N-272 is only connecting at 100Mbps. My network tester shows 1000Mbps available at the Ethernet outlet which the N-272 is connected to. I can't find any settings or speed confirmation on the N-272 or its app. Thanks in anticipation

Howdy y'all Im toying with the idea of upgrading my uniti for Spotify compatibility, although i'm thinking it may be a better idea to just upgrade to a more recent system, such as a unitilite. I guess my question is will my uniti (upgraded) still be supported in terms of firmware updates for the foreseeable? Does the upgrade bring any other goodies in terms of system performance? Also what's the current price for an upgrade? I'm quite handy with the old tech working in IT, so could this...

I have a Unitiqute driving a small pair of spendors in a office. It's hardly ever used but I have noticed that one channel drops in and out at around the 40-45 level and sometimes doesn't even work at all. I have checked all connections and even changed the speaker cables and swapped the speakers around but it's still doing it. The thing that's really confusing me is that if I switch the loudness on I can take the volume all the way up without it dropping a channel. I can only imagine it's...

For far too long, I have considered going down the digital streaming route. My current library is exclusively CD but has already been burned to Flac using Dbpoweramp. On several occasions, I have almost “pressed the button” only to be dissuaded by the complexites of setting up and maintaining a network, and NAS with UPnP. Disillusioned, I convinced myself that the solution was to remain with a CDP. However, my wife has “persuaded” me that I need to find a proper solution for my...

Following months of tolerating sporadic nightly network dropouts from Unitiqute 2, I finally got round to the day's work necessary to run a patch cable from unit (in first floor bedroom) to switch in study (ground floor nerve centre of computing and hifi!). What a difference! First of all, not a dropout in sight. An added bonus is an easily discernible improvement in SQ. I'm not very good at this descriptive stuff, but everything seems tighter and more rhythmic, with a bigger soundstage and...

I am considering getting started with streaming initially for use with Muso in the kitchen. Then possibly changing my main system in the lounge. There is obviously a wealth of information on the forum which I have taken a little time to look at. Rather than ask lots of basic questions I wondered if anyone could provide some links to info for streaming for the uninitiated including hardware software etc. So far it seems that synology for Nas seems to be a popular choice and dbpoweramp for...

It dawned on me yesterday that, after being plagued by drop-outs since the word go, Tidal appears to be working almost perfectly now and has been for 2 or 3 weeks. Nothing has changed on my system and my Internet connection is still languishing at the usual 4-5 Mbps. So what's going on ? Have a Tidal implemented some sort of fix at their end ? Have I missed something ? I know this is tempting fate to mention this - but has anyone else who had been experiencing problems finding the same...

Most odd... Got a brand new NDS today, to play with for a very extended home-demo. The unit is brand new, factory packed. Hooked the whole thing up (using 555PS DR). And... Only high-res audio files can be played back - sounds rather good CD rips and internet radio - playback starts, but no sound. Have any one ever encountered this?

Seeing this today on the box itself after many days up and streaming and Spotify today. I have done all of the recent updates within a day or two of release. What does this mean? Has my NDX merely crashed? Or is there some special action I need take? Whole system re-booted after a week on vacation only a week ago. Thank you to the crowd for its wisdom. Nick

I wanted to put this in the "suggestion box" as I saw the Forbes review had the same complaint that I do. The QB has been awesome and like I am sure many Naim customers are doing I use this as my bedroom system. I am 99.9999% satisfied and think it is brilliant, what would be terrific the next update is if it had a headphone jack. Since it is a small room system/office system etc it would be so wonderful if when the time dictated the my-so could output to headphones. Otherwise outstanding work..

My current system: (1) CDX2 >Hiline & (2) UnitiServe >Chord Prodac BNC >DAC-V1 >Chord Chorus RCA >NAC202 /NAPSC2 /Hicap2 > NAP200 >NACA5 >Spendor SP2/3R2. My questions is: 1) From UnitiServe to DAC-V1, which connection is better, via BNC or via Toslink, providing interconnect cables are same quality? 2) Since DAC-V1 is also a preamplifier, is the signal from DAC-V1 via RCA "pre-amplified" before going to NAC202? If yes, how to bypass double-amplification? 3)...

I have always been confused by the ethernet cable issue. Here is my question: I have a muso. I does drop out a lot...has for 2 years. So I am thinking....My router (Apple AExtreme) is close to muso. Currently I connect a mac mini wirelessly to router and also wireless connection from mini to Muso. All are situated close together. Would adding an ethernet cable be better? If so from router to Muso? Or to AE?
