Streaming Audio

Under the Netflix and Naim Streamer issue topic Weegie posted: I have a Panasonic smart tv with the Netflix app included but this method of connection still does not give audio to the muso using the optical connection. My only method of successful connection thus far is to use an Apple TV box. This works with no audio loss to the muso. I am controlling my UnitiQute with the current Android app running on a Nexus 7. My music is stored on a QNAP NAS with QNAP Asset as server. Sometimes after finishing playing the queue and selecting return, the app jumps directly back to the selector screen, where selecting UPNP results in a message: "Another app connected - disconnect the client and either select OK or try again." There is no other app connected and try again returns the app to the queue, and returning a second time steps...

It has to be said that after living with HDX and various Naim amps over the last few years.....the SU is a pretty impressive bit of kit. And that's just with WAV from nas(HDX back up when it was around). Shame that under ill advice I converted everything to WAV from flac and don't get the full benefit from the ap. (When playing artists and album name are 'unknown' ) on SU display. Great one box solution, yet to try anything hi-res.

Hi Contemplating the purchase of a UnitiQute2 for my desktop system driving Neat IOTA speakers which I currently have in use with a Sonos Connect amp. My iPhone 4 and iPads allow me to see the volume + - symbols one above the other when I choose this as 'bottom bar volume control' in 'other settings'. My iPhone 5s does not give this as an additional volume option. Can anyone advise please? Thanks, G

Hi Thinking of buying a NDX player Am I right in thinking that my own PC CD drive can copy the CDs using something like dbPoweramp and then store them on a NAS drive, then I just need to link an ethernet cable from NAS to router to NDX? 1. Bought a Mu-so Qb a few days ago, and after a couple of hours faffing around to get it to join the wifi, I was in awe at the multi-room feature, streaming iRadio, with a full-fat Muso in the other room. Radio in 2 rooms in perfect synchrony. At which point my wife says "wouldn't it be easier to just buy 2 radios......? " How to respond ? Looking forward to the collective wisdom of the forum. Paul

Apologies if this has been covered before, but here we go... I upgraded from Sonos Connect, through NAC202, to 272. Pre amp is amazing. LP12 through the preamp, turbocharged with Hicap is just stunning. Tidal at 44.1 also sounds tippity top. My only beef is... ...that the Naim app only allows one user at a time. Just about getting my head around this. I'm running a converted PC based linux NAS with a single 6TB drive (for music only) which is pretty much full so I need to add a bit more storage. Say another 4TB should do. My current usage is backed up with two separate 6TB external drives - one kept off-site (so I have internal drive and two back-ups). Hello, I have successfully installed a Synology Nas today and have ripped some CDs using iTunes on my iMac which have then been saved onto the Nas. Ive then managed to stream to my Nac n 272! But for some reason, when I go back to the app (from say having used Tidal or Iradio) the nas drive then can't be found? The only way I seem to have managed it is by turning the nas off and on again!? Has anyone else experienced this and is there a solution? thank you.

I haven't had the time to listen to my streamer for quite a few weeks. A few days ago I settled down to listen to some music but, after just over a minute the music just stopped. Then MinimServer just went a little crazy and couldn't even list any tracks. After a while the tracks are listed but none can be played. A restart of the NAS made no difference. I had an HDX nDAC/555 combo. I traded my nDAC in towards an NDS which I have had for 7 weeks! It sounds great! Using a 5 year old 555 power supply. Reading on the forum most of you think highly of a 555dr. Should I buy a new 555dr and sell or trade on my 555? Or is it worth it to keep the older 555ps and use both power supplies on the NDS. How significant an upgrade is the 555dr to the older 555? And is it a notable upgrade to use the 555 with the 555dr on the NDS? Or small enough that is...

Hi all, I now have a Unitiserve that will not rip or play a cd, the unit freezes within seconds and requires a full shut down and restart. The unit is an SSD using a networked NAS as storage, I've looked at the possibility of a problem with the NAS by creating a music store on a different NAS with no joy. It's looking like another trip back to the dealer with the unit, if so it will be the last time!

Perhaps I'm the last to realise this but the latest Audirvana plus update has fully integrated Qobuz in to the remote app which, for me, makes a huge difference as up to now I have had to access A+ via Splashtop to benefit from Qobuz on my iPad. Hugh
