If I wished to add a power amp to my SuperUniti, what would be the forum's collective thoughts and recommendations? Reading the brochure/website indicates the NAP 250 DR as the ideal power match, and it has been very well thought of, however, would a late build (2015?) s/h NAP 250.2 offer a better vfm choice? As ever, thanks in advance for your words of wisdom, brickbats, etc. KR, J

I have fibre optic (FTTC) broadband coming next week & have just done the prep work get the best out of it before it arrives. Line speed can be affected with old style flat ribbon telephone cables connecting the router, so they had to go. But interestingly I found these cables had an affect my (current) ADSL2 performance & I thought it would be interesting for forum'ites to see the results. I had two sections of the old flat ribbon cable, 5m from the ADSL filtered wall socket to UPS...

I have an older NAP150/112 amp preamp combo with a flat cap and CD5. I recently purchased as used uniti 1 to use at home while the equipment is serviced. I have the following questions. Can I use the Uniti as a source component to the 150/112 system. That is, can I use the preamp out from the Uniti to go into the 112, using the Uniti CD player, streamer or Internet radio, depending what is selected on the Uniti, as the source for the old system. Assuming that I can do the above, can I run...

I have a qnap nas and just recently bought a Synology DS216+ I want to copy my music over from the qnap to the Synology, and the qnap does have a 'backup to a nas' feature, but it needs the ip address, account name, password and a port on the destination nas. I gave it the Synology local ip address and guest account info (which has read/write permissions) and I guessed at port 5000 but I get a generic error message basically saying to check everything. Any ideas? I can 'upload' to the...

Have to vent, hence this post. But also need some advice... Came back from our Easter break, fired up all the equipment as usual. UnitiServe kept on flashing, flashing, flashing. Tried all the usual tricks... to no avail. The most annoying thing is that this one is not even 1 year old. The previous one died at a tender age of 4 months So emergency procedure - fired up the MinimServer. The 'problem' is that my NAS directory has two folders at a root level: NaimDownloads and NaimRips. As far...

I'm about to have a dedicated mains supply installed, which is good news, but physical constraints mean that it will have to be close to and parallel with my ethernet cable from NAS to Uniti. I've read several posts about separating the two by 30cms but I doubt I can do that - is it feasible to shield the ethernet cable some way (e.g. inside a metal pipe)? Has anyone had any experience of this?

I was trying to get my (self-compiled) compilation albums to show as ONE single album via the upnp section of my naim app so that I could add it to the play queue on the naim app en masse. The album part of the naim app shows the compilation but it only allows the user to add one track at a time to the play queue. I looked on this forum and saw similar queries but no solution so here's mine: I'm using a naim uniti with a vortexbox server as upnp and I use dbpoweramp as my software for adding...

Here's a little issue I'd appreciate some guidance on please. I'm using Asset UPnP server, dBpoweramp CD Ripper, Mac Mini and a Naim 272. My original CD ripping predates this setup and was done using iTunes. In order to regain album artwork views I've decided to rip all my CDs again using dBpoweramp CD Ripper (in FLAC format). Everything works fine except that the Naim app in the iPad sees both the original iTunes ripped files and the new FLAC files ripped with dBpoweramp CD Ripper. Since...

This could be a simpleton type question, so apologies if that's the case. I already have a Tidal account that I use Social sign-in to access (Facebook). I have been using the account on my phone mostly. Now I have a QB, it has Tidal built in but requires sign in via the Muso app to access. However, the app doesn't give you a social sign in option, just email and password. If I use my Facebook email and password, it doesn't recognize it. I don't want a second Tidal account (obviously). I also...

I have bought the Naim Uniti qute [1AB5 - BC SW: 2D12905 - Ident.: 11326WE] and I am unable to set the time? It keeps saying that I should check that UPD123 isn't firewalled? Can anyone suggest a solution please? Router: Netgear DGND3700v2 [V1.1.00.24_1.00.24] Laptop: HP Pavilion g6 [2382sa D0Y14EA#ABU] O/S: MS Windows 10 Cheers!

Hi, first time poster.....so bear with me I have a Unitiserve 2Tb which I love, it now has some 1000+ CDs ripped on it and....is not backed up!!!! I run the US on my wifi using a netgear wifi Ethernet adaptor, which works great. I do not want to invest in NAS simply because my wife will execute me if any more cables appear in the living room. So my thinking and has anyone else tried this idea - Stick a crossover Cat5e/6 cable into the Eithernet port on the UServe and then into the Ethernet...

Hi, I would like to listen to and record music from Internet radio streams. To avoid transferring them to my smartphone, it would be great to have an app which can handle recording hassle-free. Anybody of you made some experience with a good and free app? Thanks for your help!

Just read via another computer focused website that streaming has overtaken digital downloads to top United States market by monetary value. You can find the source document by searching on the RIAA website in their music facts section. Will be interesting to see if the trend follows back to UK. Personally I'm still very happy with holding my music locally on my NAS. I have bought a download version of a CD if I couldn't wait for a physical CD to be delivered but generally only use download...

Hi, I rip in dB poweramp (flac) to Twonky on QNAP. I was recently sent some Hi Res files on a USB drive (thank you Adam, I've not forgotten about you, will be in touch) that I converted to flac (using db converter) and put in my music library. All was well until yesterday when I updated to the latest firmware on QNAP. The Hi res files are now showing the wrong artwork and the tracks are scrambled/missing or in other albums. I have deleted one of these files and am now left with a ghost...

As some may have read on my other thread I have been suffering network dropouts when using my new Unitiqute 2. I have narrowed it down that the biggest offender seems to be Spotify Connect. How exactly does connect work does anyone know please? I ask because the Spotify app on my idevices frequently requires updates. How is connect on the unitiqute updated though? Is it via unitiqute firmware updates or does the update for the controlling device suffice? My unitiqute firmware is up to date.

Does anyone run the the Naim Streaming App on a 10.9" iPad Pro? I expect it will probably look good but I would appreciate any current user feedback.

Hello all, just bought a Unitiserve, feeding into a Mu-So. I'm interested in the following issues. Firstly my browser (Safari) does not recognise the NSSRV+ address, with or without http://. I can access the US from the 192.168+ address. Does this matter? May be an issue if I have to reboot the router? Secondly I've tried a number of usb sticks (all FAT32), containing music loaded on to them via a Mac. The US doesn't recognise any of them (although the Mu-So does). Thirdly, in the file...

Hi all. Do we know if integrated support for Roon is coming? I asked for Tidal and you gave it, but now I've discovered Roon it's a deal breaker. If Roon comes to the Naim range, I will be investing in an NDX, a Muso for the office and an all-in one for the kitchen. Thanks

Hello together, I created a DLNA-Server in JRiver MC and access the files on my computer via the Naim App. However, it is not possible to fast forward the tracks. What can I do to use this feature or is it not possible in general? Furthermore I have several high res FLACs (on a connected NAS) which are not possible to play over the naim app. Message 'Error, track skipped'. But it is possible to access these file directly from the streamer via remote control. The files are playing, but are...
