Streaming Audio

Hi Friends, I seem to have developed an issue regarding this. I often listen to Radio 4 programmes from earlier in the day via my ipad. I had been just plugging my ipad into the Muso with a USB lead, very easy press play and hay presto "just a minute" in the kitchen rather than Call the Midwife in the living room. It suddenly seems to not want to do this anymore, everything else seems to be normal. It plays music or live radio via it's own software but does not want to cooperate with playing...

I have the Naim App installed on my iPhone 6 and iPad. It controls my NDX just fine, with one exception. Suddenly -- and I can't tie it to anything specific -- I can no long play an entire album . .. only one song. Also, the App shows that no song is playing, even though one is. I can play songs one at a time, and I can see all of my music however. How can I fix this?

I have a Halide Dac HD that I use to stream iTunes and Spotify into my 552. But I have never downloaded a hi res piece of music. I would like to try this on my Mac. Could somebody recommend a simple way to do this? Should I download PCM, FLAC, DSD or what? What resolution? When it lands, do I drag and drop to iTunes and play, or using my iTunes driven by Audirvana? Will iTunes allow hi resolution output or do I need something else altogether? As I understand it, the Halide is a USB powered...

Nice present from Damien arrived today for those using the IPad remote for Audirvana +. Much improved interface with album art etc and full integration of Qobuz. Think it may be time for me to try the free trial version of Qobuz and see if it's worth a subscription. Audirvana and its remote really is a brilliant piece of software. Now if he could just let me add files to my playlists from the remote I would be very happy indeed.

Anyone experioenced using this with an NDS? Just can't believe that Naim's top server doesn't do everything the Melco claims to do! Anyone tried it? Thanks, Martin

I'm looking to see how much content I've got in each folder on my UnitiServe - Music; LQ, MQ, HQ and EX and Downloads. I've tried Windows explorer, Network, NSSRV... ; Right click on directory and properties but that reports ) bytes (!).

I have been trying to edit the metadata for a few hi-definition (.dsf) music files i have downloaded, but have not been able to do this using dbPoweramp. Does anyone know if it is possible to use dbPoweramp to change the metadata or is it just not compatible with .dsf? Normally, I can right click on a file (such as .wav or.flac) and select "Edit I.D Tag" which then opens a screen allowing me to adjust the metadata. Unfortunately I don't get this option with a .dsf file. Any Ideas on how I...

The Naim Desktop Client has a tab under tools for the Naim UPnP Server settings. The Miscellaneous Category / Transcoding has an Auto and a Native setting, along with some others. Since my Unitiserve is going into my DAC and then my amp would which be the better setting, Auto - which detects the controller type or Native - which hosts the file in its native format? Thanks.

I'd like to know which IP port numbers the UnitiServe uses and what functions are mapped to those ports?

Hi, I am experiencing an odd problem with my NDS. It's connected to AUX 2 on my 552, and when playing music via either UPnP or streaming via Tidal, the input channel on the front panel shows as CD. However, if I switch from UPnP to Tidal, or vice versa, the input on the front panel shifts to Aux 2, and it all goes very silent! Anyone know the answer to this? Dave.

I just pulled the trigger on pre-loved Naim NDX and am about to move to the world of streaming. For now, I've been using foobar2000 as my music player and media library on PC. It supports last.fm scrobbling through plugin. Now is there a way to get UPnP server (any of them?) to scrobble to last.fm? I will still use my PC as server so maybe some UPnP server would work with the last.fm desktop app or something? I'd seriously want to make this work. I've been scrobbling since 2005 and it's...

Does anyone know how to get Minimserver onto my QNAP NAS? The Minimserver instructions say to go to App Centre, but my file structure on the NAS doesn't contain this. I had TwonkyMedia installed at the outset, but I don't see where that lives, either

Greetings – This is my initial post on this forum. I’ve just ordered my first Naim product, a NAC-N 272 Streaming Preamplifier to go with an existing Mac Mini and non-Naim power amplifier. I’ve shortlisted either Asset UPnP server software or JRiver (so in the longer term I can also stream images to a Sony DLNA certified TV) from the Mac Mini. While waiting for delivery of the NAC-N 272, I’m loading and pre-testing UPnP. JRiver streams audio and images to the TV fine. However, I can’t get...

Hi guys, I need some help: I'd like to record music streams from Apple Music to store them as files for offline playback on my hard drive. However, I don't have any clue how to do that. Can somebody point me into the right direction? Thanks for your support!

I'm pretty new to streaming, but I've reached the point where I rip CD's onto my Mac using dBpoweramp, and buy the odd HD file as an experiment, although that is limited at present as my Uniti does not have the 24/192 Boards (yet)so I can't go much above CD quality anyway . I stream to my Uniti using Asset upnp server (again on my Mac) via an ethernet cable. The obvious limitation (leaving aside quality upgrades) is that I need an NAS so that I can play files without the Mac being on - and...

Hi guys, Pretty basic question for some of you but unsure of the best method to employ. I have a UQ2, Muso and a QB. Is it possible to plug a USB stick into my router and get whichever device I am using at the time to play the music stored on it. I use mainly Tidal but on occasion use a USB to play files that I have had to download due to them not being available. Is this is possible how would I go about it? I use an iPad and HTC One M8 typically to access the Naim app. Thanks Sam

I just wanted to share how difficult it can be to sometimes rip collection of classical music. Right now I have again an example of a box of Alfred Brendel where some cd's contain pieces out of 4 original recordings. So while I try to get back to original album covers and content I have to sometimes really put puzzle pieces together. Key questions are always: 1. The right cover. Can you really find it or is it a needle in the haystack. Sometimes covers are re-used with different contents....

I've just pulled the trigger on changing to fibre optic for my broadband service & I'm looking for some tips. I've changed it to better serve TV/AV which should benefit from 802.11ac & wireless speeds potentially at 1300mbps. The question is will the TV be OK running off a wireless extender - & what make/model - or would I be better off to bite the bullet & run an ethernet. If so I will be running the TV ethernet straight off the router & the audio network will not be...

I am using an original Qute as a streamer and while I love the sound I'm frustrated with the frequent and inexplicable loss of connectivity with my iPad. I have reinstalled the app, the unit was updated in September 2015, and my wifi signal is strong (I never lose wifi with my phone). Turning the unit on and off is the only thing that restores connectivity. It is a nuisance as it needs to be done daily. I take zero interest in computers (a necessary evil of modern life) so some advice from...

Hi Guys My music is stored on my iMac, and I use Asset UPnP music server. The connection from my iMac to my Sky router it is by a Audioquest Ethernet cable. Then another Audioquest cable to my ND5 XS, via a 'switch'. I control my ND5 with an iPad. Since last night I noticed that my music was dropping out every 10 minutes or so, as was my internet connection. I was unable to browse the internet, or connect to Asset on my iMac, using my iPad. I then tried the connection with Wi-Fi, insted of...

Hi All, I am a keen subscriber to Qobuz for music discovery (PC connected optically to Dacmagic). Any albums I like I have then bought on CD to play on my CDS2. Some albums however I purchased as downloads from Qobuz before I had the CDS2. Question is, if i burn the wavs to an audio grade CD, will the sound quality be the same as a pressed CD? My downloads are uncompressed WAVs. Regards Matt

Hello dear naimers, Is it possible to control a SuperUniti from a Macbook? Can we somehow fool the app into thinking it's working from iOS? Or perhaps there's another easier way to achieve this. Thanks.
