Streaming Audio

Hi, I have trouble with my Unitiqute (again!!!!!). When I press the button to get information of an album, it says “Searching for metadata”. It only appears on the ipad, iphone works ok (so it cannot be a problem with Rivo/Allmusic). I have had this problem before. Once it was solved by updating Unitiqutes firmware, another time by updating the ipads OS. Now there is no update available. How can this be solved? Good evening, dear Naim fellows. I might buy a Mus-so Qb next week. My music is flac only, 90% red book, 9% 24bit/96kHz and 1% 24bit/192kHz (rough estimation). Since I am using an Auralic Aries in my main system, I stream (wirelessly) all files directly from a network share. What kind of infrastructure do I need for running a Qb? Will a network share not be enough? If I need to install some kind of UPnP-Server, do I need to configure it to downsample the high-res files? I wonder, why Naim...

Has anyone upgraded from a XPS2 to a XPS DR within the context of streaming devices? I have a new N272 which is just being run-in (running stand alone). I also have a second hand XP5 XS, which I will use with the N272 shortly.... I am assuming that I will get an improvement in performance... Hi all, I am a superuniti, ovator, power line owner who streams from a synology NAS. I am off to the Bristol show tomorrow to review both the muso and muso qb with a thought to buying maybe a muso for my office and bedroom and a QB for the (rather large kitchen). Following on from the 'Backing up the NAS drive topic' I have backed up/copied all of my music which is currently on my Synology DS212j NAS to an external hard drive, following the steps laid out by Synology for 'back up and replication'. Hello Again!  Having decided to painstakingly update all the missing/incorrect MetaData on my newly ripped CDs - I have hot an issue with compilation CDs by Various Artists.  The US puts "Various Artists" as the artist for every track.  When I update the artist to the correct name, all tracks on the same album are named to the same artist.  I go to update the next track and everything (including the one I have just updated) gets updated to that artist?! Any thoughts?

After nearly a year of foreplay, I finally bought a NAS and DBP. The first CD is being ripped as I type. Only X hundred to go. Then I guess I will need something that can play the files. i replaced the disk in my macmini w/ roon with a ssd...it's is so incredible good ...like a new hifi component....what the hell is going on here??? by far the cheapest and best upgrade for years....highly recommended folks! It plays in another league now :-) Roon and mac os on ssd now, music on a seperate disk. I can only guess that the old disk disturbs the musical path in a not known manner, maybe more cpu cycles, maybe more internal noise, maybe jitter...but doesn' t matter, this rocks...

I've got my son a Qute for his upcoming 18th birthday and I'd like to get him a Raspberry Pi on which to run Asset with a USB drive for storage. Do I need anything special, or would a Raspberry Pi 2 Quad Core Starter Bundle (£55 from Amazon) fit the bill? Are the USB ports v2 or v3? Thanks Gavin

Hi everyone, I'm new to this forum and have just purchased a ND5 XS, currently using it in wireless mode and a NAS via my Netgear router, also Tidal. I've been doing some reading and from what I have read wireless is the least best option followed by wired and then USB. Is that correct, what do you think? I have added a new album to my iTunes and it does not display properly from the Naim ios app. From Artist/Album it displays the album title, but click through and no tracks shown - blank. The tracks are there as when I choose 'All Songs' they're listed! Tried re-loading into iTunes, but problem remains. Is this a known problem? Is there a simple fix? It's flippin' frustrating! Wondering if the next time I add anything to my iTunes I'll see the same problem :-(

Hi, I've just installed DB power amp for mac, and completed my first flac rip, which appears to have completed successfully. The problem is that I can't see where the options of where to save the rip appear on the new (to me) software. I know there's going to be a "Doh" moment when one of you guys reveals to me what is probably blindingly obvious, but at the mo', I'm scratching my head somewhat! After some initial teething issues with an NDX I got as upgrade to a UQ 2, solved after a post on this forum, I'm addressing some other suggestions made at the time. This has generated a few questions, probably rather basic/apologies for that. As suggested on the forum, I am moving the US into the same room as the NDX, as well as the router so that hard wire connections are possible. Hi All, looking at the various options available to start streaming some music, both from Spotify/Tidal/Apple music etc and ripped/downloaded files Reading several reviews on the Melco sounds like it's an option Budget of 2-3k so would a Melco>V1 DAC work, I can't find anywhere that states anything other than Tidal will work via a BubbleUpnp (android only) or am I better off with a 1 box solution like a ND5 XS/NDS? or even Linn Klimax Renew? maybe even a Mac mini>DAC V1? too many...

I'm unable to log into either Tidal or Spotify via my NDS/US SSD setup. I'm able to play UPnP files without issue, and I can play the last Spotify song I was listening to at my office yesterday via my laptop. But when I try to boot Tidal within the Naim app I get a login screen that freezes when I try to proceed with logging in (log-in info was populated when the screen popped up, and I was able to repopulate it to make sure the password was correct). Hi - I swear that I will never have to rip all my CDs again! At the moment they sit on a Synology NAS. I would like to have my music stored on the cloud (OneCloud?). Is there streaming server software that will read data from the cloud, and be visible for my ND5-XS? What hardware does it require? Thanks for sharing your views and experiences!

An engineer friend of mine has described uPnp and its massive security issues as "evil" and recommends that I disable it . He's streaming audio without uPnP using a squeezebox and he told me I should be able to do the same although he wasn't forthcoming about exactly how he did it on his system. Question is: Can I configure my ND5-XS to stream without using uPnP and if so, how is it done?

Does anybody know if Naim wants to implement Roon labs into their systems. I desperate want to use Roon, but cannot use it as an endpoint with the Naim.

Hi! I currently have a Muso at home and in my office a pair of Audio Pro T20 which I bought for 250£. Sometimes I listen to my T20's (like now exactly) and can't help but liking the sound a bit too much compared to the Muso.
