Streaming Audio

Just purchased a used HDX and I need to replace my temporary ethernet cable with something more permanent in the living room. The run will be 15m, I will need to route up and around one living room door. Grateful for any advice about which makes of ethernet cables to buy without spending a fortune. Has any one routed the cabling under the carpet ?

I have been trying to install without success a Netgear NAS with WD hard drives.to back up a UnitiServe. The first one was found to be faulty when I returned it to the suppliers, the second one  did not connect via one of the slots as determined by Netgear themselves during an extensive telephone support session. Has anyone else had a problem with this product? 

If one has a UnitiServe SSD latest firmware and rips all CD's in FLAC to the NAS one would assume the tagging issues associated with WAV are a avoided and if one was to go in a different direction in the future proper tagging would be in place with the UnitiServe FLAC rips and different server software would then pick up the FLAC rips with all metadata in tact. I have a ND5XS and a NAIT XS2, and I would like to assign for iradio, upnp different buttons on the amplifier. For example: iradio will be on tuner button Upnp on hdd button Do you know how I can manage to do that? Thanks

I'm using Naim app on Android platform (v.1.6) and can not find out how to shuffle music from USB media (common USB stick). Can anybody confirm that shuffle is not possible from USB media, or give some hint how to do that? Maybe iOS version of NAIM app is diffrent?

I have an issue to control the sound of my system with the ipad. I don't have anymore the option on the apps. I can select the music, radio, etc... but not the level of the sound. I have a NAI XS2 + ND 5XS. If someone can help me it will be highly appreciated....

I have made a number of purchases over the years from iTunes and these have been duly downloaded to my iMac in ALAC format I believe.   How can I ensure that I have downloaded them in the highest possible quality? I know ALAC is lossless, but if it has been heavily compressed etc, if I unpack it to a WAV/FLAC file, is it truly the highest quality? Many thanks Mike

I have recently had my UnitiServe software updated and am now getting a message saying i am running an outdated version of Desktop Client. Where/how might I get the required updated version?

I would like to see a Naim DAC like the V-1, with an upgrade power supply the size of a HiCap. This would allow both units to fit neatly on one shelf and still compliment the system. Is that a nifty idea if it were possible?

I recently got a 172 XS and love to control it via the Naim iOS app - particularly for the direct streaming for Spotify and Tidal. However I have found that the unit will not be able to connect to the app (maybe asleep?) and using the remote to "wake it up" doesn't seem to have an effect. Power cycling the 172 seems to reliably get it to work again.  I have tried DHCP and Manual IP addresses and that does not seem to make a difference. I am connected via WiFi though, and haven't tried...

The app will only allow me to play one track .......and then I have to play one more....and then etc Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks in anticipation. Roger

This is my first post. Today I took possession of a 272/250dr combo. I have an Apple IPad and wondered whether it is better to set the volume higher on the IPad and then adjust the 272 volume control accordingly or vice versa. I am streaming via Tidal hifi which seems to me significantly superior to Spotify Premium. The 250 is driving a pair of Linn Kan's which are old (obviously) and I am looking to replace with another pair of stand mounted speakers. Any suggestions (around £1000) welcome.

I have just received my vinyl copy of Steven Wilson's new album 4 1/2. Unfortunately, one side is heavily scratched and the album will be going back (K-Scope's quality control has some serious issues IMO). But all is not lost as it came with a download code to download a FLAC copy, which I have done. It is now in the downloads folder on my PC. I have dragged and dropped it into the downloads folder on my NS01 and I can see it there on Windows Explorer. However, I cannot see it in n-serve or...

Looking at adding a mac mini as a way to get Roon integration. Looking at the specs on the apple site the current one does not seem to have spdif/optical output, just hdmi and headphone out. So what is the best wat to connect to a 272?

si pale question probably answered elsewhere but does anyone know what codec is used to stream Spotify via Naim products. I am assuming Ogg but am interested to know one way or the other.

wo nder what the muso would sound like with a cyrus cdt transport cd player, could it be used as a decent stereo system.

Am thinking of buying a muso in the next week or so, what is the best or the most stable way to run the muso on a wireless connection, as i have read there are more than one way to  do this, ie via browser or the naim app, would appreciate your suggestions, thanks John

I have one room in my house in which the WiFi signal from my router is very weak or non existent. This makes using my iPad in that room unreliable. I have overcome this by reconfiguring an old sky router to act as a wifi access point. This is Ethernet fed from my main router. This works ok but my iPad will not lock onto this acess point unless it loses the wifi signal from the main router completely. I can overcome this by switching off the wifi on the iPad and then switching it back on...

I was switching between 'Qute's this morning using the Naim app on my iPhone, when one of the 'Qutes failed to respond. i took a look under the stairs where my 'Qutes live and found an Error 10 message on its fascia.   I have not found reference to this error on forum.  Has anyone had a problem with this before? I solved the problem by switching the offending the 'Qute on and off. ... But I was wondering about it all morning. Thanks for any feedback ...  

Tried to find a thread on this issue to no avail – sorry if this has been asked before... Just installed my 90 days of TIDAL – I'm looking for ARTISTs – any ideas where I can find them? Tried both the Naim app and the TIDAL app (both iOS) to no avail. The Mac version has this feature... Best, Lorenz

Hi all, On my MuSo, i have a few iRadio stations preset on my app, however a few of them will no longer 'tune'. Going to the websites of the stations and they stream fine. Anyone else have similar issues? Cheers! 

Just picked up a secondhand HDX this afternoon, mine has had a 2tb hard drive upgrade with a 24/192 board. I have just loaded some of my own cd's for copying but the HDX has also 450 albums already loaded. Looking at the settings to change the rips to the highest quality I changed it to flac but noticed that all the existing cd's are in a queue to be converted to flac from wav, problem is it is showing a total of 11 hours to convert. If I abort this conversion what are the implications, is...
