Streaming Audio

My dealer advised me never to allow updates on the Sonology servers, if in fact you are using them only for streaming audio.  He said that most of the times updates mess everything up.  I've take his advice for six months now and have never updated anything and I've never had a problem either.  Food for thought.

Is it possible for the Unitiserve to send DSD (in DSF format) to the NDX/nDAC yet? I ask because I've upgraded my NDX & nDAC to play DSD, and have confirmed that they can. But the DSF files I loaded onto my network are not seen by the Unitiserve (that is, they do not show up on the UPNP for the NDX via the app). Is there a solution to this? Thanks.

Hi there - maybe a thread already - but I can't seem to be logged into tidal via the naim app on both my iPad and iPhone - only one at a time - usually my iPhone. Does anyone else have this issue? Is there a work around? many thanks M  

Hi, NDX, Synology disk station and BT Home hub 4. iPad with NStream no problem never drops connection. iPhone 5s different story. If I switch NDX off and back on NStream appears on IPhone and will last a couple of days and then drops (finding rooms) nothing found until I repeat NDX on off? Any ideas please?

I've bought an ifi Audio iPower SMPS for my Netgear GS105v4 switch. just downloaded the new release of the Naim app on my IPad Air II: it's now lightning fast in searching through the NAS with both Minimserver and AssetUPNP. Anyone else noticed improvements ?

Last couple days my superuniti will not lock onto naim radio 320k or 128k it says "CANT PLAY station unavailabe"  it was working fine for past few weeks (even on wireless) although cable connected usually.. Help

I collected a UnitiServe from my Naim dealer yesterday.  After reading lots of pros and cons on the forum, I've opted for .WAV files, as I am less bothered about tagging etc.  However, having set it up, I missed that the parallel MP3 was set to false, so having spent a whole evening ripping, I only have the .WAV files! I thought I'd give Spotify Premium a try but am unable to connect to my SuperUniti.  The SU doesn't show up on the list of Devices Available in the Spotify app, either on my iPad or iPhone.  Streaming from Tidal and UPnP via the Naim app is working fine. Very please with my N272 (still less than 100 hours old). While trying all the functions - I noticed that the volume control know was a stiffer to turn vs the home demo unit that my dealer lent me. In fact I went into his dealership to make sure that what I recalled was in fact true - what I discovered is that the stiffness of the knobs seems to different by device - so his N272 had a very loose easy to turn volume knob - his N252? pre-amp's volume know was stiffer, and the balance control...

i must have this rant. I think naim have made a big mistake selling the muso at J L. Yesterday I visited my local JL. There was the muso, stuck on an end shelf. No display stand or information ect, Speaker domes pushed in, a bad cosmetic state too !!!! They don't know about the stuff they sell!! Glad I got mine from a proper hi fi shop. Hi Guys, I've been listening to some music this afternoon and at three times the music just dissapeared within fifteen minutes. My NAS is 'wired' upstairs using two power lines to the router. The powerline are not ideal but so far they've been rock solid. I've never had this issue before on a wired setup and I'm not sure what next to check. If simply change the name of the folder, and the music files do not change does this change the tag somehow or the way it looks when loaded on the Naim software? Hi folks, I have frequently experienced the following problem when streaming Tidal albums via my NDX (controlled by Naim App). Albums that I have marked as favourites and are then stored in the menu "My Music" can frequently not be played. Although the albums and cover arts are stored and displayed under "My Music/Albums", the songs contained on the albums are often not. It is then not possible to play and listen to the album (if I press the play button on the app, I receive the error...

Am I the only one struggling to get my head around Tidal pricing? £19.99/month or apparently £16.99 if you pay for six. By comparison, Netflix is £7.49/month for HD (which I would argue is approx. level of Tidal Hifi), or £8.99 for 4K. How can Tidal justify over double that???

Did anyone experience problems after performing the Factory Reset upon completion of the update. The Factory Reset is required to update the firmware. How important is the firmware update? After the Factory Reset, what had to be set up again? I have done updates previously and those went fine. However, I have never done a firmware update or Factory Reset.

Over the last month I have experienced something worrying. When i play a track from the internal hard disk in my 4 and a half year old ns01, there are sometimes a dropout where the music stops. It will start again maybe 10 seconds later. If I then play the same track nothing will happen. One worrying idea is that the main hd in the unit is about to give up. When my hd in my nas did the same I could check that the number of errors detected by the Nas O/S suddenly was much higher than usual.

I know there are a few Melco owners on here. Just wondering if anyone is using their Melco as the music source for a Sonos system. It looks like it should be possible but from a google around i've not found the answer... TIA James

I'm to connect my Qute 2 into my Dynaudio XEO 3. I've tried using the pre amp out into the XEO hub with speakers set to none on the Qute. The result is silent. This is wrong I assume at this point. Is the digital out the only way to connect the Qute to the XEO 3 hub? I'm only wanting to use the Qute as a source for now. TIA

I had to return my HDX-SSD for repair as it was frozen. Now I have it back it can't find my internet - any help on what I need to do to make this happen ?
