Streaming Audio

Hi............I've searched on the forum but can find nothing to help with my issue so any help would be appreciated. I've just downloaded Roger Waters The Wall (Live) but in the naim app it's showing as 29 separate tracks and not an album. Consequently it won't play as an album and stops at the end of each track. Please see below. Does the naim app have a maximum track number and if so would splitting in 2 be the answer, or could it possibly be my media server which is Asset UPnP running on...

First of all, hello to all the Naim community . Its my first post, although I've been around the forum from sometime now, and after so much learning, i finally have something to contribute: my impressions on my future acquisition Unitiqute2. heard it in my local dealer, with 3 monitor speakers (1000/1500€ range) with high resolution files, via USB, in this specific order: Dynaudio Excite 14. ProAc TabletteAnniversary. Kef LS50. playing The Final Cut , Pink Floyd (1983) and In Utero, Nirvana...

Over the last couple of years I have replaced my CDX with what amounts to a deconstructed HDX - started with a n-DAC with music stored on my iMac (ripped using Phileaudio played back via Fidelia and out to the n-DAC via a Musical Fidelity 192), then moved the music library to a NAS and now finally added a US-SSD.  I wanted the serve rather than a streamer as fundamentally I have a problem with the idea of buying an integrated streamer only to see the DAC by-passed from day one out to...

Hi all My Superuniti is running the current firmware version and I understood that it should support .dsf files. I've loaded a few .dsf files onto the NAS and checked the metadata is correct, but the Superuniti cannot see the files. Any ideas why this may be?  Thanks

In my current situation this is not a Naim issue, however I experiened the same with a Naim cude when I had it  earlier this year. The problem is that streaming over bluetooth, the volume compared to playing all other sources, internet radio, or streaming local files, is very low. Currently I am trying to use a Bluesound, with many unfortunate problems. One of the current solutions is to stream Bluetooth, but then I run into this problem. Looking around on the net this is something...

Hi all, I just got round getting my Mac Mini fit as music server with Asset UPnP. So far I used iTunes for ripping, but I understand its way of handling album artwork (in a separate library) is inaccessible for Asset UPnP. I am thus considering dBpoweramp’s CD ripper as an alternative to iTunes: Are folks using this happily on a headless MacMini, please? (it would need to rip CDs automatically on insertion, just as iTunes does nicely). Cheers, Stefan

I ripped a CD yesterday, a Meridian CD title named "Schubert String Quartet in D Minor, D810 ("Death and the Maiden")" by The Goldberg Ensemble. My HDX couldn't find the info on-line, so I am trying to enter the album name, artist and track names...

I'm buying an AirPort Express to stream some xmas songs from an ipad to a naim uniti. In the apple faq I see that an airportexpress can join a third-party network in wireless client mode (802.11n) or connecting it via Ethernet (100mbs) to a LAN port on the non-Apple wireless access point. Which kind of connection to Choose? Wireless at 300mbps (theorically) or wired at 100mbps (theorically)  ?

As in the title.  Will the app work well on an iPad Pro sized screen?   Edit, it does.

Both Tidal and Spotify have inexplicably disappeared from the inputs list of my Naim Uniti! They were, until yesterday, both working fine under firmware 4.4.00. Has anyone seen similar recently?

Hi, I couldn't see any posts regarding outdoor (weatherproof) wired speakers, so sorry if I missed an obvious keyword to search by... I have used b&w outdoor speakers with qute before, cm6, I think.. But they got sold with my last house. I'm thinking of the b&w am1s, because I'll have a rough idea how they sound. I'm in Perth, WA & the online stores have reduced auditioning potential to only a couple of high end stores. They recommend things with several zeroes added to my budget...

Hmm..Not as easy as I thought. When I click on the Tidal symbol in the N stream app. I"m prompted to fill in my email adress and password or to sign in with a Facebook or twitter account ( Which I do not have nor a tidal account) no problem making a new account on the bottom of the sign in screen. Ha..A naim site with two codes and one of them a link. when I click on this link it brings me back to the same signin Tidal  screen. I thought filling in the codes would be wise. No nothing...

Happy Holidays. I have 1747 albums in my laptop app for the unitiserve. Occasionally the album covers for the more recent additions disappear and I can only get them back by doing a Rebuild DB in the system functions menu. Why does this happen? Should I slow down buying more?

How do you like to organize your music on your NAS? I was thinking of doing it this way. Music folder Alphabetized by Artist Then CD Title Have a Classical, Electronic, World & Jazz subfolder within the music folder.

Please forgive my constant switch related questions on this forum but....my dealer said this when we discussed switch options for my new Naim streaming hi-fi.. "In general I think you are best off running one ethernet straight from your NAS to the Naim. Your NAS has two network jacks. This means that request/responses will occur between your naim and your NAS and not be as subject to network traffic. So I don’t really think you need a switch." Does this make any sense? My Synology 716+ does...

According to mac news network site Apple is preparing to go hi res in 2016 and add Beatles catalog to Apple Music 12-24-15. Interesting if true.

Currently using Synology Nas and US-SSD for ripping to it... However, on the NAS i have several locations where music files are stored... post powering down and back up... several things happen... 1: US SSD takes a very long time to "see" all the music folders again, as in weeks... suggestions on how to speed this up? anyone have success manually placing all music into the naim created file structures HQ/MQ/LQ? HQ seems to be for hi res music MQ is cd quality... why is their even an LQ (LOL)...

Hi Guys. I just wanted to thank the guys at Naim for their great accessibility and assistance when setting up my new purchase. I decided to spoil myself and upgrade the Superuniti to a NAC N 272 and a NAP250DR. I could not work out why the 272 would not power on. I tried new power leads, read the manual again and tried to call my local dealer who was closed. After a 2 minute call to Naim it was clear I had left off the blank for the external power supply. Easily fixed and now I can...

Hi, This afternoon, my NDS seems determined to play only the initial track on any album selected. This is happening whether using the UPNP input for music ripped to my NAS, or selecting Tidal. Up till now, choosing an album, and selecting the first track would play the entire album, without the requirement of creating a playlist. Any ideas?    Dave.

Anyone seen the video posted on YouTube ( link ) on 21st November from RMAF15 with PÅl BrÅtelund (TIDAL) and Bob Stuart (Meridian/MQA)? About an hour long.... I found the discussion quite interesting, and whilst I know MQA has been discussed on these pages before, I thought the content was helpful to my basic understanding, not least about looking at the whole music chain (from microphone in the recording studio to speakers in the home) and removing the blur inherent in many A to Ds. I'd...

Was wondering if anyone had any experience testing between shielded and unshielded Ethernet runs from their NAS to a streamer? I have a decent QED Cat 5e shielded cable which runs from my NAS to a switch, then to NDS.   Whilst the cable is shielded and has an earthing wire running through, all connectors are just standard crimped on plastic RJ45 connectors, so the earthing is not terminated at any end? I wondered if I should re terminate the cat 5e with metal cased connectors which can...

My nDAC upgrade failed and the nDAC is currently in an undefined status (all presets are lighting up). The initial firmware verification showed the following code: Boot loader: 2 Black fin: 5 SHARC: 4 During the upgrade all preset lights started to light-up but then the process appeared to crash. After the failed upgrade de following code was read: Boot loader: 2 Black fin: 2 SHARC: 4 Is there a way to initialize the apparatus and to force him back to read the software on the USB-stick?

Hi, please forgive me posting what to most of you must seem a silly question.... i used to have a netgear router and Devolo plug in powerline adaptors - and this easily allowed me to connect both my server with all music stored and connect to radio stations via the Internet. The problem? i recently switched to BT to allow access for BT sport and this meant I've replaced the netgear (which was getting on a bit anyway) with the latest BT HOME HUB 5 and all the related BT plugin powerline...

Sorry to all as I know this is a topic that is forever rehashed. However I am getting nowhere trying to setup a simple backup using the DTC to my QNAP. I create a folder - that is empty on my NAS (no special characters in the name) - and go to my DTC to apply it as a backup. Keep getting the message that folder is not empty. Also having problems with NAS not being online. Think I have tried everything! Help?
