Streaming Audio

Yes, it can be a pain..... Several times in the last month my unitiserve did not start up correctly, meaning the logo is flashing constantly and after some time there is a chirping noise. Touching the Naim logo did not change anything so I finally decided to turn it of. This time it ended not so good: a lot of empty folders of artists or albums in the MQ folder, scattered files all over the download folder, where I had a logical structure.  After hours of comparing files and folders on...

Hi there! Does someone know if there is a possiblity to use my TV-RC (Technisat Twin-ISIO) to control the volume of my Muso? I know that this works with the Sonos-Playbar. There you can "educate" the playbar to your RC. I didn´t see such a feature on Muso. Because I would like to use my Muso as a soundbar. Thx! Regards, Christoph

Today I received Wireworld Supernova 7 Toslink cable to replace the current standard cable between Mac Mini and Hugo (“new” version with increased spacing for connectivity). I immediately noticed it does not plug in with a “click” into the Hugo as did the standard cable. It plays all WAV file formats except 24/192 files (did not check DSD format) which have been played by the standard cable. I was already about to remove it and send it back, but kept on playing 16/44 files and am totally...

I'm in the dark on a few basic network concepts. My router & modem are upstairs in my home. I intend to run cat 5 or 6 into my basement for the sole purpose of streaming audio for my new Naim system (272+250DR). I currently have a desktop pc in my basement that get's internet via USB wi fi adaptor. My new NAS the Synology 716+ will be set up in raid 0 since I want all of the 12 GB's of HD dedicated to my music library and have multible back-up's on external drives in "cold storage" so no...

Simon-in-Suffolk and a few others here have warned me of the potential for noise getting into our music as a result of among other things network switches with external power supplies (wall warts) I turned to the great Googlii for answers and did a query for ... "Ethernet switch with built-in SMPS" I found this switch that seems to fit my needs perfectly and thought I would share it with others. Simon also highly recommends the Cisco 2960 because of it's built in SMPS.  I know that...

Hi! I know these issues are addressed variously within the forums but I am still not very clear about the solution. I have my Muso connected to a Beetle Wireless Router/Hub via an Ethernet connection. I use Foobar uPnP off my PC.  It has been working smoothly the last few days (I have had the machine for a week) but today the wireless App just does not find the Muso consistently. The error message is Room Not Found and/or Streamer Not Responding. Occasionally I get a bout of the machine...

Is it OK to plug other devices besides your NAS drive and your Naim Streamer to your Network Switch?   Is it best to isolate the switch to perform the single purpose of music streaming?  Or can I fill up the ports with other devices?

Hello all, I posted about a month ago on Spotify connect and its constant cutting and stuttering when streaming through my recently purchased mu-so. The general response from a couple of people was that my internet connection was struggling with the high quality stream of spotify connect, so even though i didn't really believe this I lowered the quality settings and left it at that; everything was working - for a while. So then the low quality started struggling to stream without problems...

Hi I am not sure if my nd5 xs supports DAB+. Looking on the website and in the manual leaves me a bit confused. I have a few channels that are no longer available and they seems to have been changing to DAB+ Do I need a firmware update? I have the Tidal firmware already.  Best regards Bjarne

Hi Everyone, I've tried searching the forums, and whilst there are lots of posts about different models of NAS units, I can't find an answer to my questions. I have a Unitiqute, and I'm currently streaming from my Mac Mini using Asset UPnP server.  It works really well.  This is the first piece of Naim equipment I've ever owned, and I'm absolutely loving it.  I find I'm hardly watching TV at all now, as I'm listening to so much more music, and buying lots more music too! That...

I've been using the Naim app on IOS with NDX and Unitilite for a couple of years now with artwork all displaying as expected. Music all served from Synology DS212 NAS. I upgraded software and started to use the Tidal service in the last 2 weeks. Last week or so I've started to notice my artwork selectively disappearing when streaming UPNPbeing replaced by blue box with note. Artwork folder & metadata all still present on NAS. Problem seems to be more prevalent with albums I've...

I am using Simple Audio into Naim in a few locations in the house.  All was well, and still is except that I have suddenly lost all my album art.   Since I previously had all my album art displayed with no problem, and still have it for a...

Just a question more for my reference than anything... With the Naim streamers upgraded to support DSD: I assume they support this via DoP format.  Can the accept this via SPDIF inputs or only from UPnP server (such as Minimserver)? Also, am I correct that all the standalone streamers can be upgraded to support DoP as well as the SuperUniti and the NAC-N 272? Hope that made sense!

I have several ISO files that I want to convert to DSD.  However, there are several choices of DSD format, both Phillips DSDIFF, Sony DSF, and DSDIFF Edit Master.  The Naim IOS App does not seem to recognize any of the three, when I am accessing my server.  What is the correct DSD format to use so that the Naim IOS app will recognize them and I don't have to further convert them to FLAC?

Apologies if this is covered elsewhere... My iPod Touch (iOS 9.2) sees my new Mu-so on wi-fi, and plays over Airplay without a problem. However, the Naim app cannot see the Mu-so. I get a "No rooms found" message. Any help appreciated! Thanks!

I have looked briefly through the posts but cannot, I confess, find anything specific. I have been using my UnitiQute for a few years now; many of them from a broadband stream of about 14MBs. The buffer has streamed regularly at 100%. A couple of months ago, I upgraded our broadband to Infinity2 which now gives me 74MBs. With precisely the same local network conditions except for now using Netgear’s top VDCL router and giving the ‘Qute high QoS settings, I can only manage a max buffer...

the reason for this post is a heated discussion with some friends listening to a top (NDS+555PS level) digital source  by another manufacturer whereupon they found a DBpoweramp accurate rip made on a simple CD dive connected to a laptop via USB clearly flatter to payback of the same CD where the rip was made from (this source is like HDX in that it can play and rip CDs as well as stream). The manufacturer on the other hand claims that the rips on the device will sound better than the CD...

Hello all, I have a serious problem with my Muso. From time to time  the Muso does not show up (on my IPAD/IPHONE)  as an airplay unit.  The IPAD/IPHONE just doesn't seem to recognise the MUSO and the Muso does not show up in the list of available Airplay units. However this problem does not occur  for other airplay units such as Apple TV. Muso then also loose contact with the Muso app ("rooms not found"). The wifi indicator on the Muso i still white which...

Does anybody use this type of configuration whereby the UnitiQute 2 serves as a source to input to a Naim DAC? There is a 75 Ohm BNC output on the back of a UnitiQute 2, it will be described in the manual section 2.4.2 for the UnitiQute 2 so potentially feed a Naim DAC. Has anybody found that this is this good for serving the purpose of a streamer/ network play connecting to a Naim DAC 75 Ohm BNC input?  The amplifier will be Nait XS2 and Neat Motive speakers.

Now the nDAC supports DSD files would it be possible to get the HDX to play DSD files over spdif to the nDAC?  Can the HDX hardware support this? Thank   Paul
