Streaming Audio

I am new to this site. I recently installed a 552. I use spotify and am testing Tidal. What I have noticed with Tidal is that the volume needs to be about 20 per cent up and the sound is fairly loud. Whereas with Spotify I have to turn the volume up to about 45 per cent and then adjust the volume on the PC or iPhone. Is this right?

Hello, Could someone give me an idea of what I am missing in terms of sound quality particularly with Qobuz not being native. What would I gain from switching to Spotify or Tidal?

Can this be done? I have a Core connected to my router by Ethernet. I want to play to another system that has an Apple TV as an input on the wireless network. Can I play from the Naim App and also mutliroom from a UC2?

I was streaming some music from my MacBook Pro to the Marantz Consolette using AirPlay; the Consolette is Lan-wired to the home net, the Mac was working in Wi-Fi. Then I decided to take the Mac close to the router, I disconnected its Wi-Fi and connected it to the modem-router via a free Ethernet port. At this point, both the Mac and the Consolette were LAN-wired; wi-fi was off in both devices. The music went on without a pause. Is it me, or AirPlay has actually little to do with Air? Thanks...

Good afternoon, New poster and recent Uniticore purchaser who needs some advice and opinions I bought a Huawei Media Pad to run the Naim app.I use the Core as a music player via the BNC cable into DAC;no streaming involved. My problem is that when I play any album,tracks will frequently repeat themselves,usually only once and then move on.I installed the app on my wife's iPad and that just works perfectly. Dear all, I bought a second hand Cisco WS-C2960G-8TC-L which will arrive in a few days. It will replace my current Netgear switch. My questions are: - am I correct I need to ask the seller to re-set it to Factory settings. Hello, I'm new the forum and Naim products. I am thinking of a purchase of the Mu-So. I'm wondering how Tidal works with the Mu-So. I understand there is Tidal integration with the Naim APP, but my question is, does Tidal then stream the selected music from the iOS/Android device to the Mu-So via WiFi (or Bluetooth), or is there code within the Mu-So that then gets the stream via its WiFi or Ethernet port from the Router. I have replaced my 2TB Unitiserve with a 4TB Core which, despite some nightmares transferring my library to it, I am generally now happy with. I've bought a DSD64 album from HDTracks and the track plays perfectly on my PC using Tascam Hi-RES Editor. Also plays fine via USB on my ND5XS. It streams nicely from QNAP/Asset until the last second and I get a loud crack; it them moves onto the next track, clicks at the end and so on. Asset is configured to play DSF files "as is". Any ideas?

Hi, I can't connect to my Atom with spotify connect. No changes to the system that I know of. I've rebooted everything twice - including my router. I've tried connected from my laptop and my iPhone but nether work- both worked until a few days ago. After testing Roon initially via MacBook that was wireless connected to my system-switch, I now bought a NUC to embed in my system. The test phase convinced my of the Roon experience and the SQ quality seemed on par, yet a wireless connected MacBook results in drop-outs with Hi-Res and I do not like a laptop that needs to be "on" for playing music. I wonder when NAIM will update the 272 or their classic range all in one to incorporate the new software platform. It seems like doing so would compete with a number of the Selekt models. I really really like my 272, and think these single box solutions are the future, but I would certainly be interested in revitalized version ala the NDX2. The new Linn gear just doesn't do it for me.

Well . . did a routine update . . . nas won't reboot. After about 30 minutes I tried the reset button on the back...nothing. Unplug power and re-connect -- green light on the front comes on, but QFinder won't find it nor will any other network tool. At least I have a good music backup on my Synology nas. Not quite sure what I'll do to recover, if I can.

I currently use a QNAP NAS with Asset. I have WD back up drive connected via USB set to back up weekly automatically. I then have a second WD drive that I connect every 6 months or so and back that up manually which I then take to my office off site from home. Is this adequate loss mitigation?Would you improve this in some way?

Morning all. Looking for some wifi tips. Imagine a late-Victorian London semi (not mine, so I don't quite understand all aspects of the network setup), with various floors. At present BT pipes the broadband into the basement Smart Hub. From there it's hard-wired up two floors to an Apple Time Capsule, which provides the wifi network for the whole house. Bought a Uniti Atom a few days ago. is it normal for the unit to hum? It’s not coming from the speakers but from the unit itself. It’s quite distracting at times especially late in the evening when it’s quiet. First impressions of the Atom is that it is very convenient and easy to use and generally decent sound quality. I received my Naim Unti Star yesterday, fantastisk product and sound, but I have one main big issue. When ripping CDs, even brand new ones, I often get ripping errors, not only that, sometimes the system rips the CDs perfectly without errors, but when playing the ripped CD from USB (tried different ones), there are errors in sound, sometimes unwanted noise, or it skips a few seconds. The odd thing is that when I play the CDs without ripping there are no issues at all, it plays all CDs...
