Streaming Audio

I have an I Pad Mini which I have down loaded Spotify & deezer as aps and have it playing through my Pre amp/amp , Speakers . I know nothing with regard to this . Very strange, when i stream wav 192 the music stops, while buffering. The exact same file in FLAC doesn't, no buffering at all. I stream with a power switch.   Is the WAV file bigger then the FLAC? Recently i transcode all my files to WAV.
