Streaming Audio

The 'now playing' screen is so much more useful than displaying the album artwork or radio station name. I there a way to make that the permanent/default view rather than the artwork? Likewise for the clock - any way to make Nova show the clock when in standby? I was spoilt by the SU! Thanks

Hi Chaps, I've installed Minimserver on my Qnap nas this morning, and have a slight issue. Using the Naim app, the music plays fine, but album art is behaving slightly oddly, as follows: In "folder" view, the artists are displaying alphabetically, as expected, but the album art simply shows the generic folder icon. Tapping on any artist, the cover art is displayed correctly, but when I select an individual album, the cover art reverts as above. Any ideas? Cheers, Dave.

I manged to order a basic Belden power cable figure of 8 to replace my Sky Router (and Sky box) bundled cable I was planning to try a Powerline with the fig 8 adapter but left that on my TV, Better Call Saul in HDR is sublime now VERY surprised and happy with the result (bass and more lower level detail peeled away), for me better than the Cisco 2960, best of all an easy suck it and see. Hi to all, I have a problem with my Naim remote. When I go to use the number 2 digit it won’t respond and a splash of contact cleaner hasn’t sorted it so I was wondering if it could be repaired? Obviously I do use the Naim App but I’d like the remote to work 100%. Thanks in advance..

Hello, I have some problems with android First: I can‘t connect my wifi to muso, I connected only with apple Second: when I connected with apple, I started to use my android phone, (I disconnected apple) but wifi worked only with radio, others apps: spotify, Tidal, soundcloud not working. I can use only bluetooth. Someone had any problems with android :) ? Thanks

I have 4000+ albums in a QNAP NAS plus subscriptions to QoBuz and Tidal, and I am running Audirvana plus with UPnP on a dedicated MM. So I can play Tidal masters and Qobuz sublime+ with Audirvana plus streaming from my MM regardless whether my source is from files stored in my NAS or Tidal masters or Qobuz 192/24. So my question is, what am I missing? What does ROON give me what MM + Audirvana plus UPnP does not? Should I pay $500 for all the things that I do not need?

My plans to move to an all Naim system have most likely been delayed. However, still wanting Naim and reading more and more about the ND 555 has me excited. What are your thoughts on pairing the ND 555 with external power supply through my current audio system? Thank you so much. Joe

Dear all, back from the holidays I switched on my Uniti Star but had a bad surprise..... it's impossible to enter into the Server mode, everything seem empty with no albums, songs or artists.... I tryied to change the server (from the HDD to a USB pen) and then go back to the previusly one but there are no way to recognize anything. All the files are still in the HDD (nothing were deleted), the Star rip correctly the CDs (more slowly that before) in the same HDD, but the server not work....

Hi. I imported some MP3 songs I'd purchased to my Uniti Core via a USB stick. I realised afterwards I'd forgotten to setup folders for the artists and so the Core imported all of the tracks into the same 'Unknown' artist folder. My mistake. Having setup the necessary folders on the USB stick, I re-imported the tracks and they now correctly appear under the respective artists. To clean things up, I then deleted the original three tracks from the Core downloads folder using Windows File...

I just got a Uniti Atom, which is fantastic, and I have a couple of related questions about how to connect my FLAC library and its metadata. My apologies if these questions are very basic, but I am a total novice to streaming audio, hi-fi and UPnP: 1. Can I connect a NAS/UPnP drive directly to the Atom via Ethernet wire (or wired USB connection), if the Atom has only a wireless connection to my wi-fi router? If so, will the Atom be able to read the customized metadata for the FLAC files...

What is the cheapest way to add a facility to my system to allow me to access internet radio, and then feed it to the digital input of my Naim n-Vi? Can it be done with a Raspberry Pi plus extra hardware, or a standalone unit? I can't afford to change the n-Vi to anything more expensive, so really Naim units are not a consideration for me. Hi there! I have asked a similar question before...so forgive me. Right now I use a 2 TB SSD in my Unity Core and a 2 TB external HDD on my FritzBox as a "NAS". If I would like to go the real NAS way for my Core, which NAS would be a) easier to setup for the Core and b) easier to be found on the network by the Core? Basically, Qnap or Synology... The excellent RP is now supposed to work in FLAC as a web-player. Via my iMac and Arcam irDAC - 'Ultra' (320k) is the best I can get to work. I get silence in 'Flac' - the DAC trips out. It's an old Mac (2008) running Safari. The Arcam irDAC is set to 44k 24 bit and I can't work out how to change it to 16 bit. It offers settings for resolution up to 192k, but is apparently stuck in '24 bit' in MIDI settings. Might that be the problem? I only use RP for background listening and it sounds very...

Anyone using audiophile modified switch? I recently noticed "Cisco SG112-24 MOD" by clonesaudio. Seems that they are changing master clock & putting external low noise power supply into it. Could be interesting to know if switch like 2960 is improving ND555 sound or not?

Sorry to appear a numpty, but just how do you (best ) play tidal through an NDX?

The PC has died so we're considering options. Considering running Jriver on a Mac Mini with a NAS drive set-up in a different room but read in many older posts that keeping the NAS drive connected to iOS can be problematic. Have these issues been resolved? What else do I need to know about? Is the Mac Mini powerful enough to comfortable run Jriver? ...Would be interested to hear other peoples experiences! Hi I've downloaded some high res albums from Qobuz, copied them to my Naim Core to the download folder. They show up in the Naim app with correct meta and artwork, but don't play. Has anyone else had this experience?!? Files are AIFF and 16Bit 44,1 kHz 24Bit 88,3 kHz 24Bit 44.1

There are probably obvious answers but can anyone tell me why (how) there are 3 rip music folders HQ/MQ/LQ and a downloads folder when browsing the Core on the network but only the downloads and MQ folders contain any music. The downloads folder contains all my hi res stuff which came originally as downloads which have been loaded via USB and the MQ stuff is CD rips. How does music get "loaded" into the HQ folder? Would that be a SACD rip or similar? There are some HDCD rips but they all...

I've installed BubbleUPnP client on Amazon Fire, paid for the licence but can't for the life of me get it to stream hires from my NAS. My media server is P!ex and works just fine with Naim App. What have I missed ? ????

After work today, Wenger2015 and I went back to my place to have a little listen to my supercharged 272/555. We listened to a few tracks streamed from the Nas and it was very clear that this was a considerable improvement over the bare 272. We then listened via the CDX2. Thinking weakest link and GIGO, surely the throw away cables can be bettered at least with a shielded or twisted pair ... We ate all spending effort on routers, switches, some fancy cables, but what about the wall socket to router cable ?
