I'm ripping (dBpoweramp) using a laptop with a slot drive & with 500+ CD's to work thru & having experienced some discs getting stuck in the past, I am a little nervous about its durability. Can you folks give me some recommendations for a good external drive Keep in mind it will not be used much once the ripping job is done, I am not looking for anything fancy, just accurate & fast.

Check the website MacRumors. They're indicating that Apple will have 24 bit downloads on iTunes starting in June.  The move is to offset reduced download purchases and is in recognition of a growing interest in the hi res product.

Is there a way to stop Naim servers automatically updating? If I'm listening to a hi-res file via my streamer (NDS) whist it ( NS01) is doing so it will have numerous cutouts due to the buffer going to zero.  No problem with standard CD riips.
