Currently I have both my Uniti & UnitiServe hard wired via Ethernet to a gigabit switch connected to my router. As both units now sit close together, could anyone advise if it would be beneficial from a sound quality perspective to now feed the Uniti by the UServe via coaxial or toslink? I also assume I will then be able to use NServe (ncluding its queing / track forward & rewind etc) rather than NStream for playback? All thoughts welcome

Hi, I have recently purchased a SN and NDX . I am looking for new speakers preferably floor standers. Room size is 3.5 m by 7m . Budget around 2- 2.5K £. Music taste is mainly hard rock , rock and electric blues . I have seen the naim 400s which look very big for my room , I have home demoed PMC 23s with the SN and NDX the dealer had given me for a home demo. I plan to do so again once my new kit has run in. I liked the sound though some songs had a boomy bass at the dealers demo room and at...

Just a quick question. If a compressed file at, say, 192 kpbs is burnt to a CD and then ripped at say 320 kbps, then will any further compression occur compared to if the CD was ripped as say a WAV file? In other words, do compressed formats...

From the Naim site: Double storage with new 2TB hard drive Naim’s HDX and UnitiServe along with the NaimNet servers NS01, NS02 and NS03 now have double storage capacity through a new 2TB drive which offers space for approximately 2,400 uncompressed albums. The new hard drive also allows the user to save music downloads or music ripped prior to owning a Naim server to a ‘Downloads’ folder on the unit easily from any operating system (Windows, iOS, Linux). Does the above (in red) mean that the...

Considering options for moving to a streaming set up ... Budget dictates that it's probably only a source upgrade at the moment; the likes of the SU is out of question at the moment. Obviously a demo is necessary but I was just wondering if anyone...

Hi guys -- I think it's time to ditch the CDX2 and move to a streaming solution, and I'd love some help from the forum. I tried searching this and various other fora, and while I think I've managed to glean some information, I'm still a bit...

I'm only getting a low bitrate version of Radio 3 through Naim Favourites on my ND5. I am outside the UK but I can still get the 320k version on other devices, so I don't think this is the problem. Is it the same for everyone? Chris

I have noticed that the n stream app is not picking up album art work that is black and white/monochrome (it appears fine on my other dnla clients). I add some colour via an editing tool and hey presto it appears on n stream. Has anyone else come...

Hi all Is there likely to be much of a difference in audio quality if I stream from my mac/ext hard drive to my Uniti, or hard wire it into the router? I've got a standard Sky router and a very awkward set up if I'm going to hard wire, so would...

Hi all, Please note that I have been reading posts and trying to understand what is better.  Ignoring the NDS for now, I am trying to astertain whether it is the internal power supply that makes the NDX better than the ND5xs.  I am also...

Hi, There is one radio station (it is called RMF Lady Pank) I want to listen but somehow I cannot add it into the ‘added stations’ menu on the Uniti. I can see it in the vtuner menu when I log in or type Uniti’s MAC address, I can listen to it on the pc via browser but when I add the station URL (vtuner’s url) my Uniti says that it cannot be played. Is this the case that not all stations are available for Naim stremers?

Hi all, I am aware that the NDS is out now and will be Naim's pinnacle digital product, but logic is getting the better of me as surely inputting a *.wav file into this gives an extra component in the chain than going straight into the nDAC? Thus...
