Just a quicky If I wanted to connect a ND5 XS to a synology DS212j via network cable, where do I plug it in? The NAS only has one ethernet out/input and this is for connection to a modem, right? Sorry, very new to this. Regards

OK, first off...I'm quite surprised to be on this side of the forum fence and quite a jump it is getting my head around all the technicalities and jargon but I've decided to go the HDX (1tb model) 555 Dac route as this best suits my future...

I've yet to read a satisfactory explanation of why the Naim ripping engine is superior to others so was interested to read comments on the Stereophile website from the Sound Organisation. Links aren't allowed (google - sound organisation stereophile naim nds) so i'll quote - Naim’s server products sound so great for a couple of reasons: First, they rip into WAV, which is an uncompressed format that requires less processing to play back than lossless formats like FLAC. For example, there is...

Hi   If I didn't want to use my iPad to control NDX via nStream, is there an app I can use on my iComputers?   I see something on the appstore called Qute Control for UQ but don't want to take a punt because it is not free [and feedback reviews are variable!]   Cheers, Julian

Hi! I just wanted to check if the ND5XS is able to play whatever audio-file from an USB-external-HD.So I just put about 300GB music on it. The external drive is now on FAT32 and has an external power supply. And how nice: the ND5XS...

Any moderator or someone with first hand experience have any exposure to the difference between the stand alone DAC + 555PS vs the NDS with its internal DAC + 555PS?  if one has a server and a DAC + 555 PS, would it be a sonic gain or loss to...

I have a specific little issue with iRadio when trying to add new stations on a SuperUniti. When searching with the Naim remote I was looking at all stations listed under New York — currently there's 465 — and when I try to go the last one from the first, reverse scrolling from 1 to 465, the system hangs, and the station playing stops. I can reverse scroll under other geographical locations with the remote. Perhaps this is unlikely but has anyone else noticed this or would like to check out...

To Drobo or Not to Drobo Thought I'd document my experiences with a Drobo, what it is, why I chose one, and what I now think of it having had a play. Why did I buy the box? I have been toying with ripping my DVDs for a few years, but have felt no real need, and so have been using an old PC as my NAS for my music files, with a couple of external USB HDDs; but whilst fitting a couple of lights in the house a fortnight ago I turned off the power, and the old PC refused to wake back up, RIP.
