Streaming Audio

Straight forward question I think. Why can't we have a Windows version of N-stream ? Sorry, but I don't have Apple I-this and I-that and have no intention of going down that road. It can't be too difficult to compile in Windows format.

Now that TJ has had a chance to get some sleep and a few beers what features do we want to see in the version updates for either app? Lets start with playlists in n-stream. Tog

As above really - I want to use a Sonos system for easy & cost-effective multi-room, but want better SQ in the living room than I reckon I'd get by plugging in a ZP90 into a Supernait, so am considering a HDX or UnitiServe.

In the week, one of the hard drives in my NAS failed, so I decided it was time to have an additional back up of my music files. I have the main version of the files on the NAS, a back up on my Mac Mini and decided to make another copy onto a WD...

Hello everyone! My first post here. Im a happy owner to a Naim UnitiQute which is in process to be broken in right now.I was just curious if someone has heard anything about Naim adding native Apple Airplay  support to the Qute? Is this even a...

I have optical S/PDIF connections between my TV equipment and Uniti/Qute. This works well enough for SD transmissions and presumably offers a better sound quality than using an analogue connection, as the DAC in the Naim equipment is likely to be...

Hi guys, Anyone know how to repeat1 on the uniti? Whether it's CD or uPnP, I just can't figure it out. Thanks!;

In auditioning the UnitiServe & NS01 I have been struck by how much better the Naim rips were than those made using my standard ripping technique, RubyRipper on Ubuntu. Naim rips to WAV, so was the difference due to the way Naim handles a flac file? I used flac to decompress three of my 'flacced' albums: Praise & Blame - Tom Jones; The Rock Soundtrack; and Diva - Annie Lennox. I reripped these CDs using the UnitiServe. In all cases playing back via US/NS01 -> nDac ->...

Just considering where I want to go for the future ie: retain CDP and upgrade with power supply, or change CDP for NDX/HDX. At present, I could afford to change in my CDX2 and get an NDX but can't stretch to an HDX.  I do not have any NAS,...

I suppose the answer is "no", however I'd like to clarify it here - if I get nDAC and connect dig out of my UQ to it would it be possible to play 24/192 files via UPnP or the "limitation" of 24/96 on UPnP input still applies?

Fresh from the UK, a brand new HDX has just joined the CDX2. Installation went amazingly easy - automatic connection to the network and the first rips did not need editing (although no luck yet with album covers, and not sure whether it's possible to...

Hi have downloaded a few HiRes tracks and bought the 88.2/24 version as the 176.4 sample rate is not listed on the Unitiserve spec. What is likely to be better and can the Serve play the 176.4 sample . Gerry

I have an NDX with a RIPNAS and have been ripping some disks into it. After ripping a cd where I already had a 24 bit copy of the same album. A problem occurred. The NDX will no longer play any of my 24 bit downloads and for my 16 bit cd...

Newly updated n-Stream 2.0 and n-Serve 2.0 control apps now compatible with iPad. Naim’s intuitive control applications, n-Stream and n-Serve, have been updated to be compatible with iPad alongside the currently supported iPhone and iPod touch. n-Serve 2.0 and n-Stream 2.0 now feature an iPad-native layout and allow users to scroll through album cover art tiles, a significant step forward in usability and design. n-Serve 2.0 has also been updated to display extended metadata from the server...

so the ASA has passed judgement against a device made by 3GA Ltd, which makes a box which rips and stores CDs. “We considered the overall impression of the ad was such that it encouraged consumers and businesses to copy CDs, vinyl and cassettes,” the ASA adjudication states. “In the absence of prominent explanation, we concluded that the ad misleadingly implied it was acceptable to copy CDs, vinyl and cassettes without the permission of the copyright owner. We also considered that the ad...
