Streaming Audio

Searching using the Naim App searches both my NAS drive and Tidal. Is there a way of just searching my NAS drive? When you have more than one album by the same artist, is it possible to choose which album's artwork appears for the artist. For example if R.E.M. showed the cover for Monster is there a way of changing it to show Out Of Time instead? How does the App (or perhaps it's the server) decide in any case? It's a small thing, but would be nice not to have an obscure album cover or one...

After a short bit of listening, ripping and generally poking around the app, here are my initial impressions: SQ - quite a large improvement in detail over my Serve - at first it was almost startling. Second SQ area was not good - sound was somewhat brittle and a little bit harsh. We ended up adjusting the speaker placement (slightly wider, slightly further away) and that, combined with letting the Core run for a while made a huge different. Hello, I'm unable to use the search function on UPnP server. The only proposal is to search in local music ! I cannot use the tool to find music on my UPnP server (Minimserver). I think that's a bug with the new app.

I'm contemplating the addition of a Chord Hugo to my system and am wondering about some of the finer points as follows. Can the NDX route its digital inputs through its digital output? I use UPNP, Spotify and iRadio on the NDX plus feed a TV to it via optical cable and I'm wondering if when using an external DAC, these inputs can be fed to the DAC from the NDX digital out, ie. keeping all digital switching at NDX with none at external DAC. Hi I use a WDmycloud NAS drive to serve music to my NDS .......... I was wondering if I replaced the standard wall wart psu with a better power supply would that improve things sonically ...... has any one done this???

After fiddling with rips for a while, I purchased a Unitiserve 2T a few years ago. It was a revelation for rips and playback, compared to former solutions. When Core was announced, I sold the Serve and planned to purchase Core. In the meantime I have tried rips via DBpoweramp to NAS, doing Flac due to metadata edit. I have also added more cd`s and have about 3-3500 discs, 2/3 of the classical music. I don`t look forward to the ripping process using Mac/DBP and NAS. next, I find the library...

Hi, I've recently upgraded and migrated to a Uniti Star playing music from an existing Roon server running on a QNAP NAS. All sounds wonderful, but I keep seeing "Naim Login Fail (Samba)" In the Qnap event notification. I've searched around for advice and can see nothing to explain or help fix it. I'm not even sure why the Star needs to access the Qnap disk? I tried switching to AssetPnp, but this made no difference. As it happens I'll probably need to migrate or run AssetPnp in parallel...

Can someone help me with the right way to setup my reset Cisco 2690, my Apple extreme router, NDS and NAS please? I can make bits work but not all. As it stands all the internet, server and streamer work when plugged into the Apple router but I was interested to see if the Cisco switch would improve things as suggested by some learned members of this forum. Would someone kindly explain how I need to plug it all together. Do I need to restart the NAS? Thank you.

Anyone having problems with iradio. Everything else works on my superuniti, just silent when using iradio, dont get anything other than 'connecting' on the app screen, and tuning on the su's display

My NDX was working just fine until last weekend when I tried to listen to the Naim Radio Paradise stream - the NDX says the radio list is empty but the preset list shows all the stations. It tries to tune then says press play to continue but nothing seems to be loaded and I cannot access any of the presets. I assumed it was because I needed to upgrade the frimware - doing that was a nightmare! Alas still not able to access. Please can anybody help me to resolve this problem! Many thanks

Was listening to iRadio this evening, decided to change stations and have now found that nothing will tune in. Tried the Qb and the full fat Muso and neither will. Anyone else?

Does anyone else find volume levels much quieter since 2.6? What I used to play at 30, now seems to have to be 40, and still lacks punch. What the hecks going on, are my ears going?!

is anybody else having this issue... go to app on iPad, tap Core link and I get the spinning wheel of death / frustration...tap QB or 272 link and gain access no problem. If I delete the app and re download it works fine for the Core ..but I had to do it yesterday and today...

I was getting excited about a recent update in March which added beta DLAN and UPnP functionality. It just offered me an update and after restarting it's lost about 50GB of downloaded non-purchased music and also no longer recognises downloaded purchases and I'm having to import again.....grrr....appreciate the UPnP is in beta but I'd not expect it to screw up the library! They've messed up their mobile app too which now has issues with tracks playing for a few secs and starting again.

I have updated both my Nova and Atom to the latest firmware. I am delighted with the results. I would like to update both my SuperUniti and NDS to the 4.6 firmware, however I can’t find the appropriate driver software. At the risk of taking the op's thread on a tangent, can I ask about my Unitiqute 2? I have just started a Tidal trial after using Spotify for the last few years. Now I have Tidal I have noticed that I am only able to access content at CD quality. Is there a way of listening to MQA via my Unitiqute 2? I am currently using an iPad for Tidal/ Naim apps.

Hi @all! I received my new Unity Core this Saturday and gave away my HDX (2 TB) in payment. I had my HDX connected to the NAIM DAC. The dealer told me that I will be blown away by how awesome the Core will sound through the NAIM DAC. And yes. The Core sounds absolutely fabulous...right out of the box. Incredible presentation of the music...it is as if I can "look" into the music. Stunning. I fitted the Core with a Seagate Iron Wolf 8 TB harddisk and started to migrate my music onto it.

When I purchase very new, usually classical discs and rip them to my Core, I've noticed that sometimes it seems as though the metadata providers don't yet have the most current album info, that is, the album is unknown. This often happens with Deutsche Grammophon discs. So, I put these discs aside & try a week later. Sometimes, problem solved. I’m not sure if I’m missing something obvious, but I only have BBC 6 Music on my iRado list, non of the other BBC stations, national or local, appear. how do I add them? thanks Danny

Naim annonces the nd 555 and ndx2 at the end of may Munich High end. They say “ come to experience our new nd555 and ndx2”: what is experience? listen to or just see the 2 streamers?
