Streaming Audio

I have an NDX and a UnitiQute2 and after some fiddling about with drivers (never had a problem with previous upgrades) managed to get both to update. Both report a problem during the Streamer Update saying communication issue with a file "SeDMP3_v14171.73_xxx_Tidal_MR-NP-Compat.bcd". Repeated the install and same thing every time. When rebooted the streamers both report 4.6 firmware and seem to run fine. I am not using Tidal as I prefer spotify if anything and I do not have the input ticked.

Dears, wondering what are the best options for streaming hq file from Nova. Currently I plug my hard disk through normal USB cable in the back port of Naim Nova. I would like to buy a NAS and I am wondering if UPNP or DLNA streaming will downgrade resultion in my file, mostly Flac or DSD. As the NAS will be located closer to NOVA in order to preserve quality do you think is better to plug it as hard drive through USB? Do I need an high quality USB cable? 2.3.1 introduced a problem of my Atom totally freezing up on a certain source in my system. I have my AV sources routed through the TV and sound goes to the Atom using HDMI ARC. I was trying to play a movie from a MacBook to the TV using HDMI but every time I switched over to the HDMI input on the Atom the unit locked up that only a hard switch off could recover. I did not see this behaviour before. 2.6 (9508) came a few days later but I have not been able to test if the same lock up issue...

I've got an older Macbook Air running the current Mac OS. I have also installed the usb serial driver from silabs.com as directed. The usb device shows up on my Mac OS but when I run the Naim Streamer Updater with the USB cable connected to my Mac and my ND5 XS, which is switched on, the usbserial port does not appear in the program's drop down menu. I'm not sure how to proceed.

I'm getting my NDX ready for the recent software upgrade and have removed it to plug in a network cable and the RS232 cable. It was powered by an XPS via a bundy cable when racked but I thought I'd power it via the 13A input. However it doesn't power up. I've changed leads, plus, fuses but still no power. Further when I re-racked it and attached the bundy cable the NDX display showed, "TWO PSUs. turn off and wait 10 minutes". The 13A cable had been removed and the power rocker switch was set...

Thought I would upgrade NDX to 4.6 - it appears to me I have to connect my PC by cable to the NDX - this means finding a cable the length of 2 rooms, or dismantle my setup and lug NDX through to PC - surely this is not correct? Perhaps I just do not bother? Thanks Al

My music is ripped on ReadyNAS Duo and streamed via Twonky. All was fine with my Uniti, but since upgrading to Nac-n 272 I can see all the albums/tracks just fine via the control software as soon as I try to play get the above message. Thoughts?

So I've had some power problems (among other problems) with my qb and recently received a new device. A few days after installing the new device, it started playing music (iRadio specifically) at 2AM (of course when the family, including 2 kids < 3 years, were sound asleep). Hi over the past week my qnap HS-251 has started giving me a lot of problems accessing my music. Last night i reset the nas back to factory default settings, before i copy my music from my backup to the nas i was hoping the forum members can give me some advice with the configuration. Strange problem with my uniti atom : the front display seems to go into some power save mode whilst the music keeps playing. Can't remember to have changed anything ? I can take it out of the sleep mode by touching the front panel ... Anybody has a clue ?

Still don't understand why Naim doesn't have Tidal connect for PC windows laptop like it has for Spotify? I have no smartphone and i do not want any, but have a laptop. With Spotify connect i can use my laptop and ND5XS for Spotify but not for Tidal. It is a real shame because i want to try Tidal if it's any better or not?

Having the benefit of some ‘serious’ listening to my 4.6 updated 272, frankly, I’m astonished. My little Proac Tablette 10’s are energised like never before...surely a ‘speaker this size can’t produce such range and scale! ‘Presence’ is noticeably better too, transparent & holographic to the point I want to touch the instruments at times. Hello, I can't update my Mu-So because it's impossible to download the firmware with iOS app. I have also a Uniti Star on the same network and, with it, I haven't no problem to update to version 4.6. My network is up-to-date and I haven't no issue to download anything with my Pcs. Do you have a link to download this update ? Thank you for your help and support.

guys, i am posting this for two reasons. 1. The SQ after the 4.6 update might not be to everyone’s liking, as I discovered after the update. It resulted in the worst sound I have ever heard from my set up. 2. You can go back to 4.4 if you desire. Naim does not recommend it and can’t guarantee that it will work. I have reverted back to 4.4 and I am soooo glad I did. Thats it. Harry

I switch through an Apple extreme and have always been happy with it but curiosity got the better of me and I picked up a used 2960. Are there any simple instructions anyone can share please?

My plan was to buy a NDS or successor and since the ND555 is announced I will need a temporary solution before the ND555 is available. I've been ripping my cd's to my Star and find that occasionally that the wrong artwork is showing on a folder. For example I ripped 4 Capercaillie albums. The albums in the Capercaillie folder all show the correct album cover but the Capercaillie folder us showing artwork from another folder, Anybody have any idea why. The metadata on each album looks ok

Trying to install new firmware but when I try to install the driver software from this link (http://www.silabs.com/Support%20Documents/Software/CP210x_VCP_Windows.zip), I keep getting the following error message : "device driver installation wizard was unable to find any drivers designed for your machine" The computer (PC) is linked to the Uniti 2 by a mini USB cable and the device is on. Hi All, I recently bought a second hand UnitiQute 2 for my bedroom which has Spotify native in the software. I decided to upgrade to the latest software version and was successful but TIDAL input does not appear. I have a Uniti so I am used to the system / software and think this is very strange. I have checked the input through the tools settings and the Naim app but no signs of TIDAL. Any ideas how to solve this issue? Thanks.
