Streaming Audio

Intrigued by the recent Innuos Zen Mini thread, I have started looking into a possible Innuos/Chord combo to replace my ND5XS. I like the sound of the Hugo 2 (but haven't had a chance to hear the Qutest), and a CD-ripper/streamer/NAS "box" has great appeal. And it also comes in the right colour... ;-) However, I am somewhat reluctant to leave the Naim app behind. I know the Naim app doesn't always get great press here, but for me it works well. Just finished updating my 272 to v4.6 successfully (whew!), and wonder if it is really necessary to do a factory reset. I'd rather not have to re-do all my settings. The unit seems to be working fine & sounds great without that last step. Any thoughts? PS - My thanks to Naim and all the Beta testers.

I’ve recently moved my ripped files from a PC to a QNAP NAS. I’ve got a couple of playlists created using Playlist Creator, and they’re not working. The tracks ‘load’ when I select the playlist in the app but only get ‘Can’t Play. Track skipped’. The playlists look good - the paths are relative and look right to me when I open the m3u file in Notepad. Even a newly created test doesn’t work. i’ve checked the Asset settings, and rescanned everything. Any ideas on how I can trace what’s going on?

Some of you may remember a post I started about wishing to sort and display my library by surname but for the Artist (or in my case Album Artist) to be displayed as Forename Surname. Just received an email from Naim: We are pleased to announce that the Mu-so & Mu-so Qb Multiroom compatibility firmware update v.1.6 will be available to download this week. This new update will enable you to now seamlessly play music between your Mu-so all-in-one system and other Naim streaming products, as well as fix some known bugs. The Naim app will notify you when the update for your product becomes available.

Very boring plain Hdmi log. But am I imagining it or is anyone else's Nova, Atom and Star sounded different - sorry I'm breaking in some new speakers so maybe a speaker change, but this does seem Nova related.

I emailed Chandos Records today to ask why Metadata is not available for any of 3 recent release discs I just bought from them. Here’s their reply: “Dear Sir, unfortunately, we cannot help with this matter as in the UK it is still illegal to rip copyright CDs even for personal use.” I am aware of a High Court dispute a few years ago, but is this true? How can Naim and others legally sell hardware with ripping capability if so ? confused.

Is it ok to play files and listen to music through the Core while I'm also ripping a different disc (doing two tasks at once)? Any insight as to if this slows down the ripping process or perhaps could cause ripping errors? Just want to make sure the Core was built to listen to files I've already ripped while also ripping discs and I'm not compromising or stressing the unit in any way. Hi everyone, I have recently updated all my Naim Equipment. When I play vinyl through the nova there is a delay between the needle and the Speaker sound. Pretty sure it wasn’t there before the update... Hello -- my dad is a big audiophile and recently bought a Uniti 2 unit when his CD player died. I've been trying to help him set it up to wirelessly connect, but this technology is a bit above my pay grade. This may be a really stupid question, so apologies if that is the case...I have 2400+ albums ripped to my Uniti Core, why is it that when I choose "Play All" in either the Artist or Album menu that it loads up the play queue with only albums starting with the letter "A"? I am about to get started with an extension and there will be a couple of network points included. Any advice on type and manufacturer of the ‘in the wall’ cables? This will be for home use only which may or may not include audio. yesterday I did the firmware update for my 272, all seemed to go ok. I downloaded the drivers for the mini usb cable, and although not being great with computers, used my Mac laptop to perform the update. It took the requisite amount of time, percentages all reassuringly clicked upwards, and then the process said it was complete. everywhere I look on the forum refers to version 4.6 update. Why does my 272 display under settings that I now have version 4.4? Do I need to do it again? apologies...

The Scenario; a Unitistar connected via an Ethernet cable to a TC-link wi-fi extender. Upstairs a further Ethernet cable connects into a Synology DS218j NAS Drive. Configuration of the Synology, guided by an article on an earlier model, seem OK. The Naim app’s network settings see the NAS Drive. But I am unable to connect to ‘Drives’ when I attempt to Rip.
