Streaming Audio

Just a sign that the naim streamers are already outdated, even before they're released. Google Mini/Alexa has become fairly popular in our household. My son asks Alexa to play music - even I find it way refreshing to just ask it to play the music I want, rather than grabbing my phone and scrolling/searching. Has Naim (or anyone else) ever published any info on the API via which the Naim apps communicate with Uniti devices? I'd love to hack together some additional widgets/apps to control my Atom from various devices.

a Little help with Roon if possible. My current NDX is not roon endpoint enabled as far as i am aware. I am testing Digout from the NDX to a Chord Hugo1 which is Roon ready end point, i think. If i was to setup roon Core on my PC (currently runs AssettUPNP with music on a NAS) what part will the NDX still play in the setup ? Or does it not ? Also i assume i would not need Assestt anymore either ? Thanks Rob

Hi Folks I have to options for connecting my TV into my system via my 2Qute DAC. Do I... 1. Put the DAC on my rack with a normal interconnect and use a 3m optical cable from the TV to the DAC, or 2. Put the DAC on my TV with a normal length optical cable and use a 3m interconnect to connect the DAC to my amp? Is either 'better' , preferable or more stable? Thanks

I recently was made aware that some CDs can be ripped onto a Unitiserve but may not be recognized by any of the databases used by the device (AMG, Rovi, FreeDB and MusicBrainz). When this happens the music is ripped without any identifying tags. The album ends up in a folder labeled "unknown" and the songs have no title. Makes it hard to search for that music in the future. Hello I am hoping some kind expert can help me resolve, or at least diagnose, this problem. I have a wired network in my flat. From the wall Ethernet socket I have a cable to a switch which then connects to a Netgear switch which in turn connects to my 272, TV and blu-ray player. When I first started to rip my classical CDs onto my Unitiserve, the metadata of correct album was identified and detailed most of the time. It was uncommon for the wrong album to be detailed and, when it was, I could generally sift through the alternatives available and find the correct one. Afternoon All I have bought a second hand Hugo to test with my NDX/XPSDR/HiLine. Initial testing shows that the Hugo is better than the NDX/XPSDR but no miles better. Remove the XPSDR and the Hugo/NDX smokes the NDX/XPSDR. All this though is with: A) Cheap £20 Coaxial cable (Phono>Phono) and the BNC>Phono converter from the NDX>Hugo B) Basic Chord (sub £100) Din>Phono interconnect from the 52>Hugo. I have my eye on an A&K AK70MK2 - does anyone have any insight as to whether WAV files ripped to a Uniti Core would be transferrable with metadata intact? Hi Forum I have been in contact with Naim about my issues with my Atom and they said my firmware is out of date. However I cant get the app or unit via remote to recognise any updates available. I want to confirm if anybody else is on the same as me or on the claimed new one to see if its just my unit not updating. I have a Unitiserve and recently when ripping CDs it has been unable to get any tags to identify album, performer, song titles, etc. I have updated the firmware to 1.7b. Checked with Apple support and my Apple router is set up correctly. All other devices on my network are working and able to connect to the internet. Hi folks, this drives me nuts... I'm running a NAS + macmini (2012 i5) +roon + rendu on one LAN switch. In this setup, I'm able to run DLNA/UPNP on NAS ('qnap) instead of roon/mac so I can compare directly in the same setup the SQ without changing HW. I hope someone can help. I have just bought a new iPad my old one getting on a bit. So I downloaded the naim app on my new iPad and ran through the usual finding rooms process. The iPad found my 272 no problems at all. I can queue and stream CD rips from my unitiserve just like my old iPad so all good so far. When I click on tidal the naim app on my new iPad finds tidal absolutely fine. I can even see my saved albums. But if I try and queue something from tidal it just hangs. Nothing gets...

I'm running tidal through my NDX and also on a musoQB. Have recurring problems with NDX in that autoplay stops functioning. It's not working at the moment, which is a pain. No such problems with the Muso. I've uninstalled and re-installed the app on the Samsung tablet I'm using to control it to no avail. Any ideas folks? With thanks

Hello All, I come from humble beginnings with a Naim DAC.... However since moving to an NDS for playing music - my most irritating complaint with the streaming "experience" is that I cannot change the personal "rating" on my music files (FLAC etc) while enjoying my music (without the laptop less toslink).
