Streaming Audio

Testing out the Core this weekend. This particular unit is loaded up with high-rez LP rips. I've been mostly interested in comparing the UPNP ethernet vs the BNC direct to the NDS digital 1 input. It turns out there really is no comparison... the BNC direct was much better. Need to do more listening but initial feelings are quite good.

Is there any means of enabling this unit to transmit Blutooth?

Not sure if reported by others yet but just to say the Naim app stops working after IOS 10.3.2 update. Cheers Gary

Hi everyone, I've recently bought a Marantz PDM661 MkII so that I can record some of my vinyl and put it on my Sony personal player. My computer skills are limited, my capabilities are ripping a CD in MediaGo and watching everything appear magically; album titles, song titles, artist and artwork. Occasionally I have had to look up an album cover and insert it via the "properties" box but that's about it. With the vinyl recordings this obviously doesn't happen. I record the vinyl in 24/96...

Just had my copy of the new Hi Fi Critic drop through my door today. 5 page review of the Core by Martin Collums with additional comments by our Forum friend Jon Honeyball. Jon's comments are pretty much as made known on here, but the rest is an interesting read (not that Jon's bit isn't of course!). Will give it a proper read a bit later.

From one day to the other I cannot get my NDX sound through my Supernait anymore. I have done nothing strange with it, maybe my son pressed some buttons but that shouldn't do much harm. The SN is still working because when I plug in something via the front aux input it just works. The NDX also seems to work because the display shows that it is playing internet radio or music from the NAS. So either the NDX is not sending a signal or the SN is not receiving it. I have checked some settings...

I bought a NAC N-272 earlier this year and am considering the addition of another Naim streamer to facilitate synchronised multi-room playback. My assumption is that I would have a control point in each room for controlling the local Naim unit. I would also like control point 1 to manage Naim streamer 2 (and vice versa). However, if I use the Naim app on my iPad to initiate the playing of some music on my 272 and then try to access the Naim app on my Android phone to alter the volume, I get...

Hi, I ordered new dac v1 and uniti core with 2tb SSD 4 weeks ago and is to be installed by the dealer this Monday. Just realised that the tidal free trial has expired today 30th 06 17 no big deal really at missing out but as equipment was purchased 1 month ago wonder if I might still qualify. i have just been reading of the closure of previous threads, but also noted that the forum was allowing new threads, so here we are. had a look at the uniti progress update and see a posting from Trevor on 27th (yesterday) which was extensive and comprehensive. Have to say this was most welcome and perhaps should gave been released several weeks ago, and might have calmed some troubled waters. I know we have been promised weekly updates, and were also supposed to be having the atoms released...

Does the HDX, or for that matter any of the other streaming products have a facility to make a playlist with no gaps between the tracks. Could there be a firmware to enable this?

Hi - Does anyone have the power consumption of the new BT Smart Hub please? I'm considering a possible change from our BT Hub5 to hopefully give improved coverage in the far corners of our not so vast home. The Hub5 is marked 12v, 1.5A on the underside so presumably is consuming up to ~18W, it feels like that to the touch I saw that some other forum members had ordered the new Smart Hub but couldn't find much feedback. Is there any experience out there either +ve or -ve?

Having 2 x Atom's on order I was frustrated to learn today the the Atom's are delayed until June now. "Software" is the reason given yet the dealers, (I spoke to 3 today) appear to be out of the loop. Does anyone have a valid answer? How badly wrong can anyone get a product launch date without commenting and keeping loyal customers informed? I would also like a Star but no-one appears to know when that will be released!

This is try and bring two common HDX tags processing issues with hidef downloads 1. If artist tags are not the same across an album you will get a separate album for each artist or artist group. 2. You will get duplicate tracks if the physical and tag track numbers vary. E.g. If the physical track numbers are 01 to 10 and the tag track numbers 1/10 to 10/10, you will get the problem. 3. Planing to buy a Naim streamer. Only one i heard is Unitiqute 2, due to distance to reseller (1000km, not kidding) The UQ2 i realy liked, rock'n roll and analog sound compared to my Linn Majik/D Now i wounder how is the UQ2 compared to the 272 and superuniti ? Hi all, I know the NDS and 272 are playing in different categories but I was wondering, strictly comparing the on-board streaming functionality of both, if there are technical differences between the two devices? Is the streamer in the NDS much better than the one in the 272? Thank you Naim friends :)

Simple question (that I can't seem to get a straight answer on): Does the Core have to be hard connected (i.e. a LAN connection) to a router to function properly or can you connect via wifi? As always, thanks to all.

Having read the FAQ, it looks as though editing metadata in the downloads folder via the app is a non starter. I understand that. However, is it possible to edit the metadata on my laptop (Mac OS) on the Core? Will this mess up the Core's OS when dealing with the data? For example, I'd like to add a piece of cover art to an album that I've moved onto the core (a DSD file). It shows up on the app with a blank folder as the cover art. Can I change this? thanks.

anyone tried to add a dac to the nds, like msb or dcs dacs? can it upgrade the nds? thanks

Example: a USB drive with 120 albums on it. Can I select only 3 of the albums for download? I'm a newbie with this product, and my experience presently is that if you connect an external disc via the USB drive, you can select the disc itself, but not the content. So, in my example, it would pull in EVERYTHING on the disc. No option to select. Thanks, as always for any help.
