Streaming Audio

Could anyone please outline the methodology for deleting all the music stored on the Uniticore's internal hard drive? Reason for above, I have encountered difficulties copying music from my UnitiServe to the UnitiCore. Approximately 35% of the music stored on my UnitiServe has not been copied to the Uniticore. I want to try the copying process again with Uniticore unpopulated with music, which will hopefully facilitate the copying of the entire database stored on my 2 TB UnitiServe!

After a bit of fiddling with the – officially unsupported – install instructions for the ARM/RaspberryPi Synology variant I managed to modify them to install the current AssetUPNP version on an Intel-based Synology NAS (DS 216+ II) with the most recent DSM version. Still an unsupported config, but works reliably and totally like a charm. If anyone is interested, I could distill my install process into a how-to. Regards, Oliver

Hi I have iPad's and stream to my superuniti, muso and qb's fine. I have just been given an Amazon Fire - 8GB and wonder if I can get the Naim app onto it and then it will have a use. I've heard that the app can be side downloaded but haven't a clue. Can anyone help ? cheers Tony

On my second Core, and it seems to be working as expected. Has anyone come across the front standby light and cd light flashing on and off constantly. Came home from work last night and this is what the Core was doing. Only way to stop it was to turn off and on. Seems to be OK again now. Any suggestions to cause this?

Has anyone on the forum managed to add Union Jack Radio to their Internet radio added stations. I've added it as per the usual method but whether I add the ACC or mp3 streams I just get the message 'can't play station' on my Uniti2. Highly frustrating.

Just wondering if there is any further word on when (as well as the what detail) the proposed next main update for these will arrive, carrying the meta-data editing facilities and, ideally, 'more' (praying for increased tag fields and sorting options etc..!).............Hoping Phil and/or the key folk at HQ might be able to give a bit more info by now....? Bah - to cap off a bad week, my Hugo is playing up. No sound, and the volume and two led's are just flashing intermittently. Chord website says connect to mains and turn off for 10 hours min, which I have done. (Incidentally, although connected to mains, there's no light on at all...) I fear it's dead. Any thoughts?

Hello, i am using a WD My Cloud as a NAS and I've all my music stored on that. However, when I use the naim app all the music appears to be in the wrong place. If I search on Artist / Album, the text will say Prince, the artwork will be Maddona, but the actual albums will be Radiohead. Anyone know how to fix this?

I have a Melco N1ZH and have installed MinimServer together with the MinimStreamer package as I wish to use the FFmpeg stream converter. Previously having used a QNAP TS-212P for transcoding duties I was hoping to use the N1ZH in the same way. Has anyone got any listening experience that might suggest if it's even worth worrying about transcoding with the Melco? In the meantime does anyone have a copy of the ffmpeg static binary for Armv7 as I am having difficulty locating the required file?

Add an album as favourite. Play said album. After playing track the option to play another track disappears. Just nothing. Useless. Just so unhappy. Closing the app is the only solution, then it happens again.

Also, given Roon supports MQA, what might Naim's viewpoint on that be? Also, does the NOva support USB input other than storage - i.e. For digital input? My system config is: modem - rt-ac88u router - switch - nds (+555ps) - nac282 (+supercap) - nap300 - super lumina - PMC twenty23 the synology ds1515+ is connected to the switch. Hello -- Looking forward to taking delivery of a Uniti Core to use as playback/storage/ripping for my music collection, rather than a MacBook Pro (which I've used for the last several years). Question: From an audio perspective, am I better to re-rip my CD collection using the Core OR will the files I've already ripped (in combinations of AIFF, Apple Lossless and AAC mostly) be sufficient if I just move them from my MacBook onto the disc on the Core? Also, can I move DSD files onto the Core...

i would like to know if anybody tried to add a dac into the nds, like msb or dcs dacs, and if it upgraded or not the sound?

I have a Muso QB hooked up to a UnitiLite via TP-Link Powerline. I have noticed recently that every so often the QB drops the signal very briefly and then recovers. Does anybody have any view on what might be causing this? Thanks in anticipation.

Is anyone here running a Cambridge Audio DAC in class 2 mode? I am currently streaming Tidal from a MAC mini > CA 851D DAC > 202. It works perfectly fine in USB Class 1 mode. However, when I flip it to Class 2 .. I get nothing but white noise. Anyone have any similar issues? I will more than likely just run it optical anyways as I don't hear a difference between USB audio and TOSlink, but I would still like to know what is causing the issue.

I have become very fond of Roon, particularly of the way it approaches random play of Classical music. I started it with Schubert Trout Quintet on Friday, and it took me on quite an odyssey via the 'Radio' function, each time playing a complete work, whether a concerto, a symphony or even an opera. Having just returned home with a brand new Uniti Core, I need to buy a hard drive to go in it! Naim recommend a Seagate Pipeline drive but which one? Looking online, there seems to be quite a few to choose from, i.e. speed, transfer rate, cache etc. The Seagate ST1000VM002 looks like the most popular - its spec is 1TB, 5900 rpm, 6Gb/s, 64MB etc. Your opinions would be most welcome!

I have configured the share in Windows. But I cannot see the share when I try a share-scan from uniti core. Can someone please provide the steps required to set this up? ,

My main system uses an ND5 XS and Thecus NAS, but in summer I use a MuSo in a location with poor Internet coverage, hence no Tidal. I had initially copied my music files from the NAS to a USB HD and plugged that into the MuSo, but with limited success - the MuSo does not recognise a Linux file system and with a DOS filesystem it will only play the music in the order it finds it on the USB HD.
