Streaming Audio

Say you have 5 songs on the playlists. Whenever I play a playlist on shuffle, if the last song on the original list is reached, play will stop. So: Playlist: Song 1 Song 2 Song 3 Song 4 Song 5 Shuffled playlist: Song 2 Song 3 Song 5 Song 4 Song 1 The playing will stop at Song 5 even though it is only 3rd on the shuffled list. Has anyone else come across this issue? Is this something limited to the Core or is it the Naim app that is causing this?

Sure this has been answered before, but can't find it sorry What is the advice for using the Chord Hugo with Naim NDX regarding battery, to keep the Hugo plugged in or to fully charge and battery and then disconnect from mains Thinking of battery life and sound quality here If keep plugged in and charging is there any benefit of say an MCRU LPS with Hugo Thanks in advance.

Hi all, My NDX was recently returned to Naim for some repair work (constantly showing Fault 28). This is now back with me showing a different identity number on the iPad which I assume is a result of the work done at the factory. The problem I appear to be having is that, whilst the app sees all my albums, when I open one to play, it will only play one track, so for instance, at the end of track 1, the album stops until I physically press track 2 to play. There is a band across the bottom of...

I can see how to add tracks to a newly created playlist in the Naim app but I have failed to find any way to actually play this playlist (nor can I find a user guide for this app). What am I missing? In case it is relevant, I am using a Naim NAC-N 272.

I have just used the volume control ND5-XS and now it performs in a manner I am completely not used to. Before it would turn up or down the volume instantly, now there seems to be tremendous time lag with small amounts of increase in sound and frustratingly so you may tap the up bottom so many times then all of a sudden it will decide to turn itself up and the mute button can take a couple of seconds to mute itself. Anybody experienced this please ?

From January to the beginning of may, a lot of topics were referring to problems encountered with the core, like bugs or metadata missing and other issues. I am curious to know if the majority of core users today are satisfied or not with this product. There is still no reviews of this product in audio magazines, 6/7 months after the launching. Curious, not ? What are your experience today?

Starting a thread so folks can publish their thoughts around how the two sound via upnp/spdif into streamers/dacs. We've got enough other threads complaining about meta data editing capabilities - would like to keep this thread focussed on differences in sound, if any. You would think the linear PSU would make a difference - so any comments around setup would be helpful too.

System NAC 272, 250 DR, NASA5 Speaker wire, Focal BE 1028BE ( on marble plinths chopping boards from Tesco ), Plusnet router leading to an Apple Extreme via a cheap extension ethernet. Today I received my Audioquest Cinnamon ethernet cable. The current ethernet was a bog standard one. The cost of the Cinnamon was under £60 so I thought, get it its a cheap upgrade ( but really i wasn't expecting much ). I have been surprised on the sound quality difference, especially since the Apple Extreme...

Just as simple as that. I cannot conceivably be bothered by any sort of monthly subscriptions be it internet or anything else so I am quite satisfactorily using PAYG internet when it suits me so I wonder whether I should explore any Naim streamers only using WI-Fi tethering form smartphones or it is not recommended. Just some yeses or nos will do.

hello, i am curious to know if core users are satisfied or not today. If all problems are fixed and if sound quality is improved vs your past servers or nas? thanks

Naim said: "Naim Audio are actively pursuing the investigations into this and will give further updates as we know more." OK, so....?

Anyone any experience of code 61 ?? This morning I found my NDX screen showing Fault 61 - BridgeCo init fail. It was locked up or at least stuck on the fault screen. It was not playing as such, just ethernet connected to broadband & doing whatever that does. I fixed by power cycling, the faults not returned so I assume a temporary glitch, but its worrying not knowing the cause & what potentially might be required to actually fix it. I've done a forum search & found some stuff,...

I have a recent HDX issue. Overnight the display, front panel open/ close & power on/off stby. soft buttons are not lite up. However the Naim green logo on the front is on. tried the main switch off/on twice no joy. N-serve app. on my IPad can't find the HDX. I had the HDD replaced 2 years ago to a 2TB version after the original one failed. Worked a treat. From then until today. Only unusual use of the unit was the last 3 weeks it was played every day sometimes 24 h straight to run in...

An intriguing upcoming device along the lines of Raspberry Pi & HifiBerry DIGI+ Pro, Sonore microRendu, Auralic Aries, Melco, etc. It comes with comprehensive outputs and local storage and could be all what one needs to directly feed an SPDIF DAC and to serve music over the LAN to UPnP clients. It can also act as a Roon endpoint. Any experiences with the Lightning Server and, more generally, with interoperability (or lack thereof) between Naim and Auralic products? Thanks, nbpf

Hello, After many years of living with an old Meridian 602/606 + Audiolab 8000P/8000A x 2 combination paired with Monitor Audio Studio 20's, I've finally decided to reduce the box count and upgrade to the Uniti Nova. While I realise the product isn't released yet, I'd like to ask if anyone has any views on whether the MA Studio 20's will sound ok with the Nova as I'd like to keep them ? Also, is it worth connecting the Nova to the 8000A's ? I appreciate that I will be able to ask my dealer...

just starting to wonder how to fit a digital source into my existing set up (LP12/252/SC/300/SL2) and as such looking for any feedback from the forum. I want something to match my LP12 for SQ and recently demo'd a nds/555 and a ndx. The NDS/555 seemed to me at least to up there with my LP12. So that looked to be a clear direction to move into. However, before splashing out I've tried to read around to see if this would be a wise investment. I'm a bit stuck that the nds is quite an old hw...

I switched on my ndx yesterday (it was purchased new a few weeks ago) and when went to play a track i got no output from left channel (same problem on din and rca outputs). I restarted the ndx, restored factory settings but still no output. Finally restarting the Naim app on the smarthphone and selecting a different track left channel output started working again. Tried to play again the track that gave the problem and everything worked normally. What happened ?! Any idea ?

Whilst we are all awaiting access to the new Uniti streaming products I thought I would revisit what good internet radio stations are around, especially wrt data stream size and little to no interruptions to the music. There are a number of stations that I have seen mentioned regularly on the forum such as Naim, Linn, Paradise and the newer BBC offerings. In an old post I found reference to a Greek internet radio broadcaster Audiophile with a number of 320/44.1 stations depending on what you...

I have taken great care to ensure that all my music files, in both FLAC and DSF format, have the appropriate album art stored within the file (if necessary, I take my own photos of CD covers). When using the Naim app with my NAC-N 272, this album art is normally displayed correctly. However, if I want to view the metadata associated with the currently playing track by tapping the 'open book' icon, the metadata panel appears for only a fraction of a second while the app pointlessly goes...

So I have a question about editing meta data on compilation CDs. Some assumptions you can make.... 1. The compilation CD is found in my "downloads" folder under "various artists". 2. That the compilation CD is also found under "various artists" folder in the "Artist" list on the Naim app accessing my Core 3. That I have use a meta data editor (MP3Tag) to edit the information in the compilation CD to correctly reflect the name and artist of each song and this appears correctly on the Naim app...

I'm still new to all of this streaming malarkey and looking for some advice.... Having been feeding my Uniti Core with CDs for a little while now, I can't seem to discover how many CDs I have ripped... I can see how much of my 2TB I have left in "manage music/configure music stores/view music stores"...but I can't see the number of CDs... Am I missing something or just being particularly dim??... Thanks Craig

Updated the iOS Naim app (iOS 10.3.1) and Uniticore firmware a few weeks ago, and initially the new edit metadata function was there when I selected an album, selected "..." and there it was. Noticed an album missing artwork today and went in to edit the metadata, and now that option doesn't show up. Checked multiple other albums; it's not there for any of them. Naim app version is 5.6 Under "Product version" in the "About" menu on the app it says: Application: 1.4.6904.0.0 Operating System:...
