What are you listening to and WHY might anyone be interested? (Vol. XIV)

On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:
Sly and the Family Stone. This is prompted by the fact that there is a new docmentary due out this coming year on Sly.
Contains one of Bobby's greatest songs IMHO "If You Think Your Lonely Now"
Playing this in one room whilst listening to a couple of new trax from Terry in another room
Next Stop ... Soweto Vol. 3: Giants, Ministers And Makers: Jazz In South Africa 1963-1984:
cd rip.
Anne Sofie von Otter - Bach
On CD:-
Frank Sinatra - Songs for Swingin' Lovers!
Andreas Scholl - Bach cantatas
Another one of those great value, decent SQ Real Gone 4-CD sets. I got this one from my niece this Xmas. Some great stuff on the first disc - Brubeck, Torme, McGriff, Allison, Hayes, etc.

Will never forget my first time I saw the "Paradise City" Video on MTV
Starting the morning with a good Schubert version...
This is an unusual but beautiful combination...
Bob Dylan - More Blood, More Tracks
Didn't grow up owning or listening to any of Bob's music however, I have persisted with this on and off over the past several weeks via Tidal.
I rather like the majority of tunes on this one and if HMV (Cardiff) is open this afternoon I might treat myself to a vinyl copy. It could well be my last visit.
Another gift by way of St Nick. This is the 2-CD/1 x LP 50th Anniversary edition. The hype sticker and an insert inside of the package makes much of the fact that the CD of the album is "MQA encoded". I'm struggling to hear what this "innovation" is bringing to the party. Still, the music's good.
Wilson Phillips - Wilson Phillips
I remember my brother having a copy of this album on cd in the early 90's which he played continuously for months.
I recently found a vinyl copy in a charity shop, well worth a £1.
Disc 2 of this very fine 4-CD set. Features the likes of Jimmy Smith, Wayne Shorter, Brubeck, Getz, Quincy, Googie Rene, etc.
Was a Bit exploring things after reading jazztimes with the best albums of the year. This one was part of it, and yes I have to explore Myra Melford more, great album...
Dorothee Oberlinger & Andreas Scholl - Bach: small gifts
- Dorothee Oberlingen - Recorder
- Andreas Scholl - Voice
- Ensemble 1700 orchestra
Nice mixture of vocal and instrumental works from Bach. In some of the instrumentatl works the lead violin part is played on the recorder, which works out very nice.
This album will need further exploration to appreciate it...
Now back on course with a great album of Michael Wollny...
Duke Ellington meets Coleman Hawkins
Sounding very smooth.

Jeroen,
We saw Dorothee Oberlinger perform last year. She was outstanding.
