I have a really nice 16/48 recording of Chuckles' mega-gig in Hyde Park back in July. Let's listen to that...

The November 1940 recording of Mahler’s 1st.  Another gem from Sony’s Masterworks Heritage CD series.

Ruthie Foster- The Phenomenal Ruthie Foster

Another Ewe recommendation I believe, and I know I have posted this recently. I have just got around to ripping the CD and I just love this album. If your bag is soulful, bluesy, Gospel then give this a go. If Al Green had a singing sister, then Ruthie would be that gal. Shades of Lizz Wright too. High praise indeed, and well deserved IMHO.

Thouroughly recommended.

Found this in a local antique dealer on vinyl, needed a jolly good clean but a couple of quid well spent - takes me back to my youth watching girls dancing round their handbags at the local disco! Sounds pretty good on an LP12 too:
