On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:
Tabby cat posted:Playing on Compact Disc - Dark and moody and loads of Sub Bass and Liz Fraser....much to like
Keep an eye out for the remastered Mezzanine + exclusive Mad Professor dub remixes from original Mezzanine sessions, due out later this month ............ mine's already on order.
Queen - Innuendo
"I'll face it with a grin, I'm never giving in, the show must go on".
I think I'll have this played at my funeral.
Playing on Vinyl - Texan Pyschedelic rockers The Thirteenth Floor Elevators from 1969
Led Zeppelin - Led Zeppelin lV.
More SHM - CD goodness from Led Zep. ...................... still LOUD!!! ............ is there any other way?
(2010)
Phosphene Dream
It's nice to get back to listening to the music that I want to hear, The Black Angels are one of my favourite contemporary psychedlic rock bands with influences harping back to the 13th Floor Elevators, Doors and the like, good stuff.
Filmed live in 2010 in New York City as part of Billboard's Tastemakers video series.
Playing on Compact Disc - Great solo album from Noel G.
Eric Dolphy quintet (featuring Freddie Hubbard) - Outward bound
Great jazz by Eric Dolphy and Freddie Hubbard
- Alto Saxophone, Bass Clarinet, Flute – Eric Dolphy
- Bass – George Tucker
- Drums – Roy Haynes
- Piano – Jaki Byard
- Trumpet – Freddie Hubbard
Primal Scream - Screamadelica.
Another classic album to kick off the New Year ........... seems to be turning into something of a LOUD evening, Chez Dave.
Continuing in a soul / funk vein
William Bell -The Soul of a Bell 24/96.

(2009)
Wooden Shjips - Dos
Lovely soft sounding, fuzzy psyche rock recapturing some those sixties Bay area sounds and vibes.
I was right in the middle of the whole Britpop thing and it was a great time for music. This album still holds up, solid songs, great production and I think Blur's best by a country mile, or should that be "country house"? Now playing on CD:
Fish
Return to Childhood - CD Rip
Edward
Primal Scream - Give Out But Don't Give Up - The Original Memphis Recordings.
Following my last one ^^^^ , somewhat inevitably, this one, which is amongst my "albums of the year".
Just brilliant, IMHO.
Queen II
(2008)
Volume 1
In need of more psyche' rock I'm going for another fine one from Wooden Shjips.

Southern Avenue - Southern Avenue
A very talented band IMHO. Genre? Soulful, bluesy rock.
This gal can belt out a choon and no mistake!
Playing on Radio 3 and sounding divine on my NAT 01
Norah Jones - Come Away with Me - CD
What an offer from this talented lady. I’ve given mine a dust and redress today, and Norah now has a beautiful fresh voice again after a few hours of warming up. I love her sultry singing. I think I prefer this one to Feels Like Home.
Phil
CD on the MacBook
Joe Jackson - The Fool
Why? Review. And its damned good too.

Shaving mirror released 1998 - A very pleasing album, with great keyboards from Mr Lewis. ????
A new purchase which arrived today so my first play. Yet another excellent recommendation from this place that I've benefited from.
Was listening to this on Radio Paradise in the car on the way home, great album and certainly brings me back! Streaming on Tidal
Massive Attack v Mad Professor - No Protection.
Mad Professor works his deep dub magic on Massive's "No Protection" album ............ and its a winner.
