On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:

I love the cover - she is very beautiful and sang beautifully! It is evocative of a period when I too was young.
Alan, what does it sound like and which songs do you like best.
Phil
Hi Phil, the album is well recorded, produced by Richard Perry, with a stellar cast of people helping out.The style is uncluttered giving prominence to her vocals and the two more better known songs "The Right Thing To Do" and "You're So Vain" are representative of how the record sounds. All the songs IMO are of equal quality and as an album it flows well ,but have to admit it is the only Carly Simon album I own ,so I don't know how it compares with the rest of her work.Recommended
Alan
Just Order it. Thank you Alan.
[@mention:12970396060785205], Mike, I must order some Mary Black. Where should I start?

Hi Phil
I would say here:

Enjoy

The Collection is another fine album by Mary.

Eric Clapton – electric guitar
Keith Richards – bass guitar
Ginger Baker – drums, tambourine
Doris Troy – backing vocals
Madeline Bell – backing vocals
John Barham – string arrangement
1969 - Uk 2nd pressing...
Happy 50th for tomorrow...
The xx - coexsist
Double header. Above and beyond. Top sounds.
Grace Jones - Island Life - CD (see photo of system and cover)
This one arrived on Monday. It is getting its second playing after a rebuild of system into 3 racks. This album is a real foot tapper fully lots of interesting sounds. And doesn’t she do a good job with these genres.
It’s been a very frustrating 3 weeks full of ups and downs, but now feeling I’ve made real progress. Things sounded good before but further advice on SuperCap placement along with lots of tips about digital messing up preamps if too close ultimately exposed the fact that racking was difficult to tweak (cable dressing difficult to check). Hence the photo. It’s still work in progress to improve the visual aspects, and I may buy a Rega wall mount for the RP10 and then try the Aria above the 252.

Try Babes in the wood for a starter.....her voice is divine.
The "Hello Big Man" album is a must have.
1967 - Vinyl - UK first (mono)pressing...
PF - The Piper At The Gates Of Dawn...
After 'Moth' and a few more tunes, another atmospheric gem. Just in case anyone opens the link, it's Lauryn Hill's 'X-Factor' on vocals...
Note to self: buy two SL1210GRs.

Good to see you posting again, Chief.
Prince 4 Ever - CD
This is exciting stuff. Sounding better than ever thanks to box reorganisation. Very vibrant bass and across the spectrum as a whole contributing to the excitement.

Thanks Tony, it's nice to be around. tbh, as usual, I'm probably way too busy for posting here, but next week should be interesting, eh? (Richard might have other words for it.) Hope all's well with you, CC
Sultry sultry sultry...
Ace production (sounds/beats, rather than hifi) in a Lorde / LDR vein.
Hi CC, really like Banks. Been following her since the release of her the EP. Goddess was awesome, but The Altar was a bit of a miss for me. Apparently a 3rd album being worked on at the moment. Released this year.
Keep up the great posts.
Cheers

Hey hey, long time no post, great to see you here. Probably like you, I played London and Goddess non-stop for ages on release; though I heard a stream of The Altar, I didn't pick it up.
Jillian comes in for some hefty criticism - partly because of her background, I guess, and there's maybe not much depth to her songs - but I'll look out for another album, thanks.
As for this thread, thanks for the kind words, you know I got your back! Last time I stuck around for a while, I remember kk writing that you'd not been around... hopefully, next week might bring him (and a few more old names) out of hibernation.
Best,
CC
Not your typical Warp Records signing:
Kelela - Hallucinogen EP (Not my only 24-bit release, though I've forgotten what the other one is.)
As with so much modern RnB in the last few years, more brilliant production. Probably needs turning up for the bass on 'Rewind', but it's late.
Noname - Room 25
Sassy American RnB rapper/poet. This young lady was listed in a number of publications for one of the albums of 2018.
My first listen and she reminds me of Speech Debelle who received a number of positive posts when I frequented this forum a number of years ago.
Cheers
Katie Tempest - Let Them Eat Chaos
Maybe the English version of my last post. Probably more poet though. The song Europe is probably my favourite. Poetry with a dance vibe.
Cheers
Brilliant jazz fusion album.
Some Rolling Stones Copyright Preservation release trax that no doubt will come out as outtakes on a future release.
Blues in the Night: The Johnny Mercer Songbook. Great songs and great singers.
Rediscovered this, although with a different cover, it was one of my first forays away from mainstream 80’s/90’s pop/rock. It was on my demo list as I traipsed around HiFi shops listening to kit way out of my league... loved it.
