Most of us have taken one or two nice photos.
Here is my candidate as being almost quite good. In fact it is two painstakingly joined.
Taken up in the mountain at Skurdalsvatn in 2000.
Though this one takien in Warsaw in November 2006 is not bad:
I know there are several good photgraphers here, and it would be nice to see some of you best efforts if you feel inclined to share!

and on the way back from the Castle we went back along the rocks by the sea................ and my eagle eyed son spotted.....................................

On Lindisfarne we also spotted....................
Posted on: 14 April 2008 by Diccus62
The light was pretty poor but Lindisfarne Castle loomed in the distance.

My 10 year old son seems to be getting his eye in, albeit with a little cropping. This is the place to go for the numpties who don't read the Tide timetable and end up getting stuck on the Causeway to Lindisfarne (Holy Island) with the waves lapping round them.................

In one of NicNaim's favourite haunts 'The Ship' at Newton-By-the-Sea.
If only they could sit still for more than 0.00000003 of a second. My three wonderful children

I take it you are living and working in Mumbai....I lived in Bangalore for six months and you are right in that no photo or even video can describe the traffic and the driving in any major Indian city!
Great country and great people though...enjoy it!
Cheers
Jim
Hi Jim,
Not living out there yet!! I travel from Mumbai to Pune where Tata are based. I visit once a month. Life is hectic and so is the work!!
Great experience and certainly an eye opener, and yes the people are great.
A friends Dad worked in Bangalore for a while, he loved it also.

What a great pub, what a great little village! And the rockpooling is wonderful.

Wow! Great picture Lontano. Wonderful sense of movement and speed
This is one I like of the Golden Gate. In the sunshine but head in the clouds and no indication of the swirling currents that rush beneath it. A remarkable achievement in it's time.
Kind regards,
Peter

Forgotten I'd got this photo of Newton (don't claim it's a great one!) looking over the bay towards Dustanburgh. (The aforementioned wonderful pub is just off to the right, in the cluster of Natty Trust fishermen's cottages.)
And a view further up the coast, looking north from Seahouses towards Bamburgh (Lindisfarne just on the horizon on the right).

....yep easy to sail out but hell to get back through. Novice sailors are warned to beware, especially if reliant entirely on wind power.quote:no indication of the swirling currents that rush beneath it

The wonders of camera-phones. If only I'd had a real camera on me!

Am I right in thinking it's Durdle Door at low tide? The Jurassic coast - wonderful part of the British coastline.
Phone indeed! Still it takes a very reasonable picture.
I guess this is the Californian equivalent.... Chris Morton kindly took me out for some sight seeing when I visited him last year - I took this in the Bodega Bay area to the north east of San Francisco. I'm sure some of our Stateside contributors could tell you exactly where it is and what the island is called:

I make no claims of the quality of the photo, but of the subject matter!
Passing overhead today, the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight made four passes over the town. They were so low that you could smell as well as hear those glorious RR Merlin engines.
Made this small boy very happy!

Nope! That was at Flamborough Head in Yorkshire! Slightly different formation!
(Not one of mine I should point out)

Bruce I like your use of black and white.....though colour does have its charms.
